CUTE AND SOME SHOWCASE #9

Hello everyone, and welcome to Showcase $#9.
This week is my turn at Audrey's
I have set a theme project for you that I hope you will all enjoy doing.  Using any color or medium you'd like, I would like for you to make a card which will include three (3) basic materials:  a stamp of your choice, a ribbon and a charm.  You can design the card however you like and use any other materials you'd like as long as the card has these 3 items.
Here is my sample theme project for you using the above mentioned 3 items:
I used the stamp for the background, added the ribbon and a charm.
I know everyone is real busy and I wanted to make something simple but you can take it wherever you want.
Have fun!

FATHER'S GIFT BAG

My husband
is a baseball fanatic and our family room is filled with baseball memorabilia and a few other sports. Our theme for the May Challenge is Father's day by our dear Emma and since you all know now my husband loves baseball my project for today is a Sports Gift Bag especially for him. The signed baseball he already has but I thought it was a cute accent :)
I used the Baseball solutions cartridge for everything except the DAD word which is from the All Mixed Up one. The images are cut at 5 inches, the All Star word and baseball are cut at 1.5 inches. The sentiment inside the baseball is one of My Pink Stamper clear stamps set called Simply Sweet Occasions and it reads: Celebrate Today...perfect for the occasion, lol.

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON ART FRAME

This frame was so much fun.
I used my Robotz cartridge for the first time and I loved it......I used the robot from page 51..... layers2 from page 57.....font from Robotz and Jubilee. I also used Indie Art image #40. Where is the nose from??? You gotta guess that one, lol. The background paper source is unknown and the rest is textured cardstock from American Crafts, I also used stickles for some bling. We have to have bling, right?
The swirls you see in the abdominal area of the robots are from My Pink Stamper clear stamps set Simply Sweet Occasions. Aren't they cute?
About the sizes...You can make them any size you want...this is the beauty of it. My robots were cut at 5 and 3-1/4 inches high and the frame is a 10 x 7. The chain to hang is from the jewelry department of one of the crafts stores around.
It was my pleasure working on this project.

On this photo I added the swirls on the belly because I thought they would look nice on that spot.

I hope you enjoy it.
Hugs from flowerdisco!!!

This frame was showcased yesterday at
Robyn's site
as part of our monthly designer's team project.

WILD CARD WITH LISA/HOUSE

Well, I finally got here.
I started this card this morning, then I had to go to the gym, came back 1-1/2 hour later. My flowers were really thirsty and had to attend to them. Then it was Lulu and blah-blah-blah and I finally got it done.
Hold your horses now and enjoy my

House Card
7.75 inches
(I think this is the max size on a 12 by 12 mat)
 Where do I start?

The card base is a kraft cardstock, a bit thick for stability. You will find embossing with the cuttlebug, inking because I love inking, stickers, the Sweet Treats banner is from
Christmas Cheer and the font is from Blackletter.
-----
The candies and pink ribbon and the swirly mint are stickers from the $ store.
-----
The banner was cut at .86 inches and the font is .42 inches.
For the font I used my Cri-Kits pens.
-----
The balloon and the cupcakes are also stickers and the small leaves are from a punch and I treated them like they are making them now: misted, crunched and inked, lol.
-----
You can see the leaves better here.
-----
A Big Sundae is waiting for me when I get skinny again, lol
It will be my reward :P
-----
The inside and the envelope. I got some ink on it but that is ok.
The top flap of the envelope was punched with a Fiskars punch.

This was a lot of work but I really enjoy this type of work when I do not have pain, lol.

Enjoy and if you have any questions, please use the
Frequently Asked Questions
since it is just there laughing at me and waiting to see who will use it first, :P

Love You All!

HAVE A "MOO-VELOUS" DAY

You my friends are the best, you are so gracious with all your encouraging words and knowing you are there for me no matter what it make my days.
I thank You from the bottom of my heart.

My son will be leaving for NYC this Friday. The school chorus were invited to perform in the AliceTully Hall on Sunday. Now, that is another major accomplishment. Our school has so many opportunities for our kids to get involved and participate and my son takes advantage of anything musical/academic. Music is my son's passion.

A big CONGRATULATIONS to this group of singers for making it to the
BIG APPLE for another great performance.

Anyway...I did not have time to go to the Gym yesterday because neglected things needed to be taken care of. (Did I mention I got a gym membership to try loose these extra pounds I put in after my open heart surgery, when I stopped being a chimney, lol)

Well...I had a bit of extra time and I made this cute card for you guys.

HAVE A "MOO-VELOUS" DAY
This is a 5 by 7 inches card.
The steaks....oops, I mean the cows, lol... are from the Animal Kingdom cartridge and
were cut at 4 and 2.75 inches. The smaller one was mounted on pop-dots.
-----
The sentiment "Have a moo-velous day!" is from Robyn...My Pink Stamper who you all know I design for You must know by now that most of the time I used American Crafts textured cardstock  I want you to notice the kind of clear/crisp these type of high quality photo-polymer stamps are giving me
even on a textured surface.
-----
The butterfly and glitter flowers are from a K&CO pack from my stash
and I used stickles for the eyes.
The background with the clouds is a cardstock from Debbie Mum
and the green area is from DCWV, the Songird collection.
-----
Ok...one more thing I used was one survivor from the Sakura Glaze pens I bought a while ago (most of them dried out on me, I will never buy them in packs like that)...the survivor one was the black one and used it to give their hooves (feet, lol) a nice shine and I love how it came out.
-----
This is the inside of the card and the lined envelope.

I hope you like it a lot...it was lots of fun to put together.

Animal Kingdom has some nice layers easy to work with too and I was really pleased to
get to used this old cart.
It has so many images I forgot about.

Love to you all and...

Have a Moo-velous Day!!!!

EXPLANATION DUE

As most of you know I was chosen to be a designer at Joy's Life.
I was thrilled with it and very honored.
Today as she made the announcement I received a change of schedule on some things I am involved with and with sadness in my heart I had to email Joy and resign as a designer for her team. In addition to it some personal reasons were already scheduled for this coming month
making it even harder to commit at this time.
I wanted to explain since you might wonder what happened.
My time right now is very limited and you can see it since I haven't been around your blogs as I used to.
My apologies to you guys too for not having the time to comment/visit as much as I would love to. I haven't forgotten anybody,  I love you all...you know that. It is what it is right now but it will get better.

I am going to stay with Robyn since I was already committed to her and I hope I can continue being a fairy for Audrey's showcase and this is all I will be able to commit for now. I also want to finish my Wild Card with Lisa since we are almost done with them and then take it day by day until all comes back to normal.

Hugs to all!!!

WILD CARD WITH LISA/ORNAMENT

Hello to all
I hope you are doing great and that summer keeps
arriving to your door without many rainy days. :P

I haven't heard from Lisa and I am not going to bug her about this,
so I am just continuing with the series until I am done
The name of the series will stay the same because she still a part of it and
when she is ready maybe she will post.

Today I have the Ornament Card, #43 and from page #74 of the handbook
This card you can make it up to 5 inches.

My Ornament Card
3 inches
On this card I used a patterned paper/cardstcok from DCWV
"Holiday Collection" from this past year. It is a double-sided cardstock.

I added a bit of golden color cardstock from DCWV and a golden twine I had in my stash for
the ornament and for the tree on the envelope.

I also added some little dots of stickles to the center of the flowers? on the paper.
NOTE: the three inches will give you a small card but that was my intention, to vary a bit and give you another idea since you still can attach it to a present.

Well, this is it for today.

Thanks for stopping by and for the love you always leave me with.

xoxo

MARCHING BAND THANK YOU CARD

Hi!

This is a card for one of the members of the Marching Band where my son is the Drum Major this year.

MZB Pride Card
My son chose the papers and the tag is a commercial one from EK I had in my stash for a while.
This card is a 5x7 inches.
...
Here is a close-up of the EK tag.
I also lined the envelope with the same patterned paper and used a paper punch for flap.
The colors are my son's idea for a more quiet card than my norm, lol.

Good Luck with all the giveaways going around  from the newest Cricut cartridges.

Hugs to you all.
XOXO

WILD CARD WITH LISA/GRADUATION

EDITED TO ADD

ANY SIMILARITY YOU SEE ON THIS CARD AND MY PINK STAMPERS CARD FROM THE NEW MINI MONSTERS CARTRIDGE IT IS JUST PURE COINCIDENCE. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!! I JUST WENT TO HER SITE AND SAW THE WITCH'S HAT ON HER CARD (IT IS 5:10PM EST AND I POSTED MINE AROUND NOON TODAY) IT IS A MINI OF THE HAT ON FRONT OF HER CARD TOO...
THIS IS REALLY-REALLY SPOOKY.
OH MY!
I WILL HAVE TO EMAIL ROBYN AND/OR DIRECT HER TO MY BOG ASAP.

------------

HELLO TO ALL AND A BIG WELCOME TO MY NEW FRIENDS/FOLLOWERS
Feel at home and do not be afraid to comment. I would love to hear your thoughts about my projects.
 Well,
Today is Thursday and I have been busy getting some things in order and just now I finished the
Graduation card for today.
I did not like it they way it came out at first and after playing a bit with my brain
I came up with this one instead.

My Graduation Card
6 inches wide by 4-1/2 high
I used a regular standard card base just that the measurements are a bit odd, lol
The envelope is from page #35 using the blackout feature.
As you can see I made a mini card as an embellishment instead making the shaped card.
----

You still can open it as if you would with the original sample on the handbook :)
Can you see it on the photo? sorry but It is a bit hard to tell :(
---

I also used the Making Memories Scrapbook Stitches that is no other than floss thread, lol to make the tassel and added a rhinestone.
I also inked everything with black ink for definition.

---

This is the inside.
---

The supplies used are American Crafts textured cardstock, plain white cardstock from Walmart, patterned paper is from Colorbok (I found at Ross).

I hoe you like my variation here since sometimes is really not much you can do with some shaped cards.

---
Lisa's Card
(not avail yet)
---

Have a great Thursday and I think today is the day where Provo Craft will be annoucing (if not already) some of the new carts. I can't wait to see the whole handbook.
As I write this I haven't have the opportunity to go and check it out and still have other errands to do yet so I might have time after all of you are already drooled over them I hope they are worth it. So far from the sneak peak I like the Halloween and the Monster ones. I do not know if they released them today or not.
 Which ones you like best?

And,
Remember to click

Thanks for visiting and feel at home.

Love you All

WILD CARD WITH LISA/OWL

HOLA!

Today is Tuesday and I can't believe is the third week of May already. This month was a Hi and Bye kind of month...like a doctor's 15 minutes visit, lol.

We are almost at the end of the Wild Card Series with this Owl Card being #41...9 more to go and it feels I have been doing them forever. You can find this card on page# 72 of the cartridge handbook.

I also want to post here about Audrey's Showcase.
Stop by her blog and see what is all the fun about.
Click HERE if you desire to know.

I also want to CONGRATULATE to all who graduate this school year of 2010.
A Big HOORAY for them.

Now, I will present my
My Owl Card
5 inches
 Isn't he cute?

Look at his little beak. I do not know how I am folding it to put it in the envelope.
That is going to be a task, lol

I used American Crafts textured cardstock for the card base and eyes. The designer scrapbooking paper is from Prima Marketing: The First Blush Collection. The envelope again is from a construction paper pack I have in my stash.

The inside phrase is done with my new Cri-kits pens and filled in with an American Crafts glitter marker.
I wanted these Cri-kits pens so bad and today was the first time I used them. I got the four packs: metallic, pastel, reg.& neon and the glitter ones. I used the black glitter one for the outline not that you can see the glitter at all in the pic. It does looks better in real life. To use these pens you need the metal carrier. I got all these pens and the carrier from Scrapbook Corner online store. I got free shipping with my order but I am not sure if they are still offering it. This is not a commercial...I paid for all of them including my carrier...they are not my sponsors and this is just a comment I am making in case any of you wants to know.

Lisa's Card
as we all know Lisa hasn't been posting hers due to personal reasons.
Whenever she is up to it, she will be posting hers and then I will edit my posts to include her card.
Let's wish Lisa the best with her pregnancy.

Thanks for stopping by and for the love you leave me.
Hugs!

BIRD HOUSE

This Birdhouse bring memories back of when my son was younger and in the Cub Scouts. I was their leader at the time and I found this project off the internet somewhere. For many years I wanted to make another one and I finally set time aside to share it with you my friends.
Our "Beaned" Birdhouse
It is covered with red beans, chick peas and split peas.

It is gorgeous in real life, the photos do not seem to do justice.
I added some jewels for the bling we all love.
You can cover these inexpensive birdhouses with anything you like.

Have a beautiful weekend you all.

WILD CARD WITH LISA/MONSTER

It is already Thursday and time again for another
Wild Card.
Today we have #40 from page #71 in the handbook.

My Monster Card
5 inches
All you need for this card is a double sided cardstock. It is so easy and no matter what you do it always comes out pretty.
The pp is unknown for now :)...probably K&Company, LOL.
A bit of stickles for bling and done.

The little monster is hugging the envelope here :)

This is the inside where he is holding a flower to give to you.

and...above you are seeing a sneak peak of my bedding cover
(since I still working on the bedroom, LOL)

Lisa's Monster Card
---(Lisa will be posting when feeling better---

FOREVER YOUNG CARD

It has been cold and rainy where I live. I have no desire to do nothing. I did some laundry tough and a brief cleaning around the house. I also played with Lulu for a bit BUT she thinks my job is playing with her 24/7, lol.

Anyhow...I played with the G a bit too and made this Forever Young Card.
Did you know this cartridge has a dress-form
I tweaked the measurements a bit with the Gypsy features,
to stretch them out a bit and I did the same with the dresses.

TOGETHER
4.25 by 5.5 inches
The black strips are cut from scrap paper at 1.25 by 4.25 and 1.25 by 5.5 inches.
The dress-forms at each end are 3 by .75" and the one in the middle is 3.32 by .50". The dresses were tweaked a bit to fit the dress-forms better.

The patterned paper/cardstock is from K&Company: Lemon Drop Collection. These papers are simply beautiful. I also used dimensional foam to pop-up the dress in the middle.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your always welcome sweet comments.

Tomorrow is Wild Card #40: Monster Card

Hugs to all!!!

WILD CARD WITH LISA/GIFT CARD

Hello everyone...
I hope all the Mama's had a terrific day with
their loving families.
I had a big surprise...my brother and his family
came over from Puerto Rico and spend almost two days with me.
They had a wedding to assist in Florida and they stopped here before they went down south.
I was in heaven. I haven't seen them in 5 years and they have a new addition to the family whom I got to be delighted with.
A 6 months old nephew!
The most adorable and happy baby I have ever seen.
I had a terrific Mama's day as you can see.
Priceless in my heart.

Well, now onto the series.

Today we have the Gift Card from page #70 and #39 in our series.

My Gift Card
5 inches

This card you can cut on a 12x12 mat up to 7-1/4inches they say.

I was a bit at lost an in a hurry making this card. I did try the Glossy Accents. I bought it since I started making cards and tried it once before but it was a mess, lol since. As you can see on the hogs and the phrase, it looks pretty cool this time :)

I used Kraft cardstock for the base and band, construction paper for the envelope and the patterned paper is from a pack I purchased at Ross a while ago.

Now, I will present you
Lisa's Gift Card
 Don't you love it,
when we have such a different approach with the same card?

To visit Lisa's Blog,

HERE

I hope you enjoy the card for today, get inspired a bit and come back to visit me.
Comments are always welcome....
don't be shy and please say hello,
xoxo

JUST ANOTHER POST IT HOLDER

I really enjoyed making these small cuts with Create a Critter.
They look so awesome on the cover of these Post-It Holders.
You should make one too.

Sweet Chick!

I left the ribbon long again because it will be easier to open and close and the reason I opted for a ribbon is because I do not want them to open up in their purses if  they carry them in.

The stamp is again from MPS Punnylicious latest release. They coordinate so well with some of the cartridge images and specially with this Create a Critter one.

Thanks for stooping by and
I hope you all have

A terrific Mother's Day weekend!!!

Love and Hugs to all!
