GROW

hello to all

yesterday i was able to resume yard work again. i had these leaves from last year in corners of the yard and fence that needed to be picked up, so i worked on that. our yard is a pretty nice size and it does takes a while for me to keep up with it, especially with my conditions. i told my husband we should cement most of the back yard, what do you think, hehe. any other suggestions instead having grass and having to deal with weeds and bare spots? lol.

anyway, yesterday rained again so i do not want to go outside and get all muddy, :P so i am going to pick up the senior pictures and then run some errands instead. but, i made this sign the other day, thinking about mother day's and un-expected guests, ;p and i wanted to share it with you.

i hope you have a great day and
love you all!

thanks for stopping by my humble blog.

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

hoping all had a great holiday with your loved ones and had time to meditate and celebrate that we have eternal life because of Jesus.
Amen.

since i do not have my family around, we normally go to the inlaws but we have been staying home the last few easters. i prepare a pretty dinner for us and sometimes neighbors stop by and join us.

Let your Light Shine
5.5" by 4.25"
this card was inspired by another card i saw at a magazine from northridge. i knew i had the exact sentiment from one of robyn's clear stamp sets and that is all it took to start the process. :P
the scallop, the circle and the clouds are from fiskars paper punches. the pretty embossed background is also from one of fiskars texture plates.

here you can see the embossing better.  i also did some paper piercing, bits of diamond stickles and blue liquid pearls i had in my stash. the clouds were also stamped with another set of robyn's clear stamps.

the butterfly is from a ms paper punch. the border from k&co and the stem on the little flower is another stamp from my stash.

enjoy!
 and
  "let your light shine"

love you all!

MPS APRIL DESIGN TEAM PROJECT

hope all of you are doing well

today is about favors...what kind of favors?
party favors, wedding favors, baby showers favors and the list can go on and on-- :)

Birthday Girl
party favors
(i had in mind to make a "you've got purse-onality" party favors when i started, but the stamp wasn't fitting well on my already made banner--wink-wink--so i used the "birthday girl" instead)
the stamp is from the "pink-a-licious" set.

the banner is made with triangles from "george and basic shapes".
the stars and the scalloped border are rub-ons.
the cupcake is from a paper punch.

all purses are from the "forever young" cartridge using the purse creative feature, and all were cut at three inches but they do differ in size.
this green purse is image#2.

this one is image#4

this one is image# 1

i did use the hide contour feature to hide the openings they have on the front.

here is another view.

we are 20 designers and robyn, my pink stamper,  has all of our projects posted on her blog since this is our monthly design team project. please click here to go to robyn's site and enjoy the fabulous projects my team mates created.

i thank you for stopping by and i certainly hope you enjoyed my project.

HAPPY BIRD-DAY

 HELLO ALL

Happy Bird-Day
5.5" x 4.25"

the cute bird is from "four legged friends" but he has just 2 legs, hehe
and the 'happy bird-day" is from the MPS clear stamps set called "tweetie hoo puns",  released last year.

the mini accordion flower measures only half an inch and with my no good hands took me forever to shape it. :P
the paper is from an old stash from we r memory keepers. the branches are from a ms paper punch.

this is the entire card-front view.

enjoy!

DRAMA QUEEN

 hello my dear friends

i have been on a new mission that is going to take me a while. i know i have been busy lately---so much i have been beside myself--;p
but...thinking i will have plenty of free time when my son is gone for college and  i feel the need to address some issues.

my mission is to become a follower of my followers.
i was doing that in the beginning of my blogging but since blogging requires a lot of time, and i am always in pain too, i had to put that to the side and concentrate in the design teams i was on.
NOW that i am foreseeing some free time in my future, i believe is the right time for it.  i will be getting to your blogs very slowly but i promise, i will get there.

tonight we are going to an award ceremony dinner in honor of my son and i had some issues with it because we have to pay for our meals, and that never happened before, lol. well, my son was calling me a
"DRAMA QUEEN"
last night, hehe...
i tell you, that i just have to complain about everything. the older i get the more i complain--hehe. i wasn't like that when younger, lol. i could care less....but i promised my son not to mention a thing about it tonight. i promised to behave--wink-wink ;p.... and i will.
so anyway...i started making this card today with the
"spring holiday cards" seasonal cart that i used to make the box for the pink-a-licious hop. i really like this cart.  it is very easy to work with and you just have to elaborate if you want and if not, they projects still look nice no matter what. but, it was not coming out they way i planned it and started B***** and complaining. hehe which reminded me of what i was called last night....

Drama Queen
5.5" tall
in the beginning i was shooting to use it for a "cupcake queen" sentiment i have from mps latest releases. i even used the "hide contour" on my gypsy to hide the phrase "queen of my heart" that this image has. hehe but the cutout heart was bothering me, and the glitter was not sticking well, grrr and then the "drama queen" came out again and right there and then i decided to change the whole perspective and this is what i got--lol.

the pretty ribbon i found in my stash and i believe is from debbie mumm and it was fraying on the ends so i took my lighter i still keep from when i used to smoke :( and heated up the edges and no more fraying. i learned this trick from momo.
did i say already the stamp is from robyn's clear stamps and this set is called "pink-a-licious" yes...just like our monthly blog hops--cool :) and you can find it here if you wish.

and here is something nifty--;p. i did this before with another project. this backing stand is from "happy hauntings" and it is so very handy. sorry about the glitter you see on the back...i told you i was having problems with it. :(

this is another view of the stand.

the patterned papers i bought at j's on clearance like for 97 cents and they are from heidi grace. another yummy deal!
they are 24 double sided---8x8-- beautiful cardstock and it cuts so smooth on 4.

and look at this envelope flap....it is to die for. love it. i used some "my mind's eye" paper i have like forever in my stash. the color and patterned worked perfect, imho.

well, this is for now! i hope you enjoyed my project for today.

thanks for stopping by and thanks for the love and support.
love you all!

LIL ABNER MUSICAL

ETA: I HAD TO TAKE DOWN THE VIDEO...so sorry.
do not want to get into trouble :(

BUT...you can click below and see some of it. it is from a local newspaper.

hola mis amigas y amigos

i finally have a little snapshot of one of the songs from my
Lil Abner
where my son had the lead--he was Lil Abner. he is the one singing here.
i want to mention he never had singing lessons. he is a natural.
this is my pride speaking, hehe
i love my son and i am very proud of all his achievements--that's all.

-ope you like it. they had just a few seats left on every show. it was a success. all the cast members did a fabulous job. there was not one facial expression or movement that indicated the opposite. the enjoyed it and the played it with their hearts.

Bravo to all the cast of Lil Abner.

-------------------
-------------------
hello to all of you and welcome to my blog

i am agnes and bloggers know me better as flowerdisco
as many of you already know, i am not much of a scrapbooker BUT i love making cards and play with paper and fabrics in my spare time. i also love my cricut and my gypsy and have an obsession with pretty paper.
did you just call me a hoarder? lol....

anyhow...most of you are hopping with us because you love robyn, my pink stamper
i love robyn too and i am so honored to be in her design team with a group of very spectacular crafters whom are my team mates. you make sure to visit all of them and drool over their creations. you might find some candy along the way too. who knows.
our theme for this hop is birthdays and here is my project.

mmmmmm...
I'll diet tomorrow
 5" tall
hehe...this is so true to me
---i'll diet tomorrow---
but i promise you  i am doing my best, lol
i used the spring holiday cards seasonal cartridge, image#49.
the cupcake is from "smiley cards"--gypsy exclusive-- image# 1 cut at 3.75" tall.

the sentiments are from the lovely i am in love with "sweetest cupcakes" from my pink stamper new stamps
set. it has the cutest phrases about cupcakes. love it!
i used three of them:
mmmmmm..., i'll diet tomorrow and happy birthday sweetie!
the tag came from an old piece of chipboard that i covered the papers i was working with and the ribbon is from target dollar bin. what a nice finding that was!

the butterflies are from a paper punch and covered with fine glitter. i also used glossy accents for the dots/sprinkles on the paper.
a better look at the phrases.

and below two pics of the box top. a feature i fell in love with.

lovely box, isn't?

well, i certainly hope you enjoyed my project.
any questions?...just leave them in the comment area or email me at
flowerdiscos scrap hut at g mail dot com.
i will randomly select a comment entry for the candy below

LOVE IS SPOKEN HERE

i had to take food over the musical rehearsal last night and decided to stay for a while to watch them practice and oh my lord...this show is coming out AWESOME!. no bragging here but my son is so so so talented he is really a natural, and doing a super great job with Lil Abner...and his voice...oh my oh my. they will get a dvd and when my son gets his, i will upload a bit of it so you see i am not exaggerating :)
we are busting with pride here..hehe
thanks for the good vibes!!!!

anyhow...i had time to make a card.
Love is Spoken Here
5.35"

using my gypsy and cindy loo image# 25, i welded the two scalloped circles together. i then cut four more scallops in different sizes. one was cut for the inside and the rest you can see on the front.

the family silhouette you can find it on going places image#3.
the sentiment "love is spoken here" from dear my pink stamper clear stamp set is more faithful sayings and you can find the whole set here.
as you can see,  i messed up while stamping, tried to fix it and while it might not look too good on the pics it does look better in person. ;p or so i think, lol
 have a great wednesday
and remember the blog hop on friday night starting 8PM central and 9PM eastern time (where I am)

love you all!

YOU'VE GOT MAD SKILLS

HELLO FRIENDS,
it will be before we all realize it my son will be gone to start a new chapter in his life and,
i think the "empty nest" syndrome is attacking me already. i feel so anxious these days.
BUT...
this card that i will give him after his lead in the musical "Lil Abner" made me happy. i needed to craft to take my mind off things :P

You've got mad skills
4.25" by 5.5"
using the "nifty fifty" cartridge and image#44 with all its layers.
all images were cut at 3.50". the shoes are so darn cute, aren't they?
the sentiment "you've got mad skills" is from my pink stamper clear set called
"sport-tastic".
i stamped it on a scrap of cardstock and mounted it on a ticket shape.

i also used a handy action wobble for the dancing shoes.

it was really easy and fun to make this card.
hope you like it.

note: i purchased the new everyday pop-up cards cart but it is not so easy and i  lost my patience the other day with the first image which is the eiffel tower, lol. i need more practice, hehe. any tips are welcome! :)

***********
on another note: here is a photo of the local newspaper where you will find my son and some cast members. they will be performing this weekend.

he had to get a funny haircut for the part
the top is really long and the sides are really short. hehe
anyway...sunday he will be going for another haircut, lol-- to get his style back.

and i am so very sorry i haven't been around your blogs and i really really feel bad but i believe things will be like this maybe until after the graduation party. maybe not as bad as lately but some things are going to required extra time and this poor body can do so much a day. after so many hours i am good for nothing. :P

see you on friday tough for my pink stamper blog hop...a small candy might be chanced...lol

 love you all!
