VALENTINES CARD AND ALTERED CANDY CAN

here i am, safe and sound...
(so far)
a bit of update on my health: chest x-rays: good; blood work: cholesterol; and sugar a bit high ---have to repeat in 3 months---and i am waiting for the stress test results. in the meantime i am doing ok, still tired and short of breath but my gerd has not been acting up much. i have made subtle changes and it seems to be working. let's see how long it lasts. :D i am hoping they find whatever in the stress test and can start treatment. i do not want to go for another open heart surgery :(.

before i show you my project, i want to show you a picture of Lulu
this was done by my son who is a
"Black Swan"
fan, and decided to turn Lulu into the diva she already is.
you gotta love her?
don't you?

------------------
anyhow,
I made this card and i altered this can along with a few other valentine candy containers and a banner.
they are on its way to boston.
card is 5.5 x 4.25 inch

the metal embellishment---how cute-- was embossed using a small cuttlebug folder and a metal paper from quickutz. i bought mine a while ago at hobby lobby. the trees and heart are from my stash of clear stamps and the sentiment is from my pink stamper. the patterned papers are from k&co.
------------------
altered can
i covered the can with kraft paper using a strong adhesive---i used a scor pal tape. that much i knew when i started, lol.
the hearts are from doodlecharms--cricut cartridge: page #85 of the handbook and image #4 on the overlay. i used the border feauture and cut an extra heart to pop it up with foam adhesive. the middle heart was wet embossed with silver powder and the edges were all inked.
i used brads to attach the ribbon around it.
the rest of the stamping was done at the end: like i said i just did not have a clue before i started what i wanted to do. it was not hard at all to stamp it at the end. :P

this is it for now,
i hope you enjoy it.
love you all!

it is a new year!!! and this is our first
Pink-a-Licious
blog hop.

WELCOME ALL
i hope you find it refreshing and enjoyable.

this will be my last project for the My Pink Stamper Design Team,
since i have resigned due to personal matters.
I want to thank Robyn publicly for given me the opportunity to be in her design  team for almost 3 years. i am immensely grateful and to maria--our team leader---who has been up and down and all around with all of us...
thank you, thank you and thank you.

it also have been a pleasure to work with some awesome designers and learn so much from their personal styles.

my project for today is a "Thank You" card for all of you too whom have been with me for a while and for you who has come from my pink stamper blog and have become my followers.
love you all!

5" x 7"
thank you card
this "thank you" is from the first stamp set robyn (mps-my pink stamper) started from. i was then a newbie on the blog world and making cards. this is my team---my pink stamper team---the first design team i ever worked with and i am so happy for it. i wanted to use the same stamp set to finalize my days with the team. this set is called
"sweet occasions".
i used a white pigment ink to stamp with and the pretty patterned paper is from dcwv--travel stack.

the butterflies are in the ashley's alphabet cricut cartridge. the rounded scallop is a fiskars paper punch and the heart is from the same "sweet occasions set".

all cardstock has been inked and the scalloped paper pierced. some stickles were used for the bling-- :-)

and here you can see the whole card.
hope you are having a great hop and please, remember robyn always has awesome giveaways for a lucky participant. click ------HERE,  to go to her blog and learn about the challenge.

i will be back as time permits. some health issues are keeping me somehow resting...hehe

YOU'RE ONE OF A KIND FRAME

hello all....
i am here to announce the winner of
diana's blog hop--- her first BLOG anniversary that is,
and also to share with you a frame i made with the my community cricut cartridge.
this cute HUT, you will find on page #24 and for those like me using the gypsy, it is image #16 of the overlay. the roof is just a black cardstock inked with a copper pigment ink. i liked the look/texture it gave to the roof. the hearts are made of chipboard and papers already shaped and glitter was added to them.
the big heart is popped on foam tape and the sentiment is from a my pink stamper set called:
love-a-licious.
i also made a chipboard easel for the back of my frame.

now, onto the most important part of this post....tadda!!!!!!

DL ART BLOG-A-VERSARY BLOG HOP

hello my crafter friends and visitors.

I want to welcome you to my blog and wish you a year full of health and good fortune.
My name is agnes aka flowerdisco.
i love making cards, home decor art and mini albums among other hobbies.

today we are celebrating the New Year with  a blog-a-versary blog hop for my dear friend Diana from

if you happen to be around, join in the fun and a chance to win some goodies along the way---;p
today diana's blog is a year old.

including me, there are fourteen (14) stops you will be making. On these stops, you will find four (4) people with a word. those words will give you the clues for the ingredients you need to complete your project.
Each designer will have a project that will inspire you and also have some "clues" as to what the ingredients are.
You will have until January 6th, 2012 at 11:59 PM to link your project at Diana's. Once you have linked your project, you will have the chance to win the provo craft cricut cartridge "sweet tooth box cartridge" at Diana's blogspot.

now...
my project for today,
and it does have the needed ingredients--except one that i forgot...ooops! (sorry diane)
--- among some other techniques.
CAUTION: photo heavy :D

Memoirs Box
2 x 2 square
(altered paper mache box)
this little box has all the designers names from this "Diana's blog-a-versary".
(by the way, you will find the line-up at the end of this post).
this "memoir box", as i decided to call it---- it is a variation of some i have seen on the web.

this is the box lid embellished with chipboards, bling and ribbon.

these are the corners. i used a sizzix die and some copper fabric paint for the details. the pink strip is a piece of ribbon layered with patterned paper using modge podge as a sealer.

the above photos show how the box opens, revealing an "accordion like stripe" with the names of the designers participating in this hop.
you can also see all the distressing techniques plus some other elements.

the photos below will show you each square.

i used paper punches, rub-ons, distressed alphabet stamps, glitter--- to embellish each square. the first square---the one with diana's name, is attached to the bottom of the box with a very strong adhesive.
well, i sure hope you enjoy my project....it is my gift to diana's.

and.......PLEASE, if you indeed liked my project, leave me a comment because......
is sponsoring my blog today and, you will have a chance to win one of her super "high on demand" stamp sets. ------Thank you Robyn, thanks so much for donating this awesome prize for one of my followers/visitors today. -------the only requirement to participate in this giveaway is to make the project Diana is asking and link it to her blog. i will then check Diana's blog on January 7th and choose the winner. REMEMBER, you also have to leave me a comment with your info :P---

thanks so much for taking the time to stop here!

here is the line up...the blogs you need to visit today:

Enjoy the hop!
