PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 10

hello friends

we are here today to share episode 10 with you all.
sit down and enjoy!

this week i worked with page #69
and i chose to make a garland out of the dolls.

Friendship Garland
(dolls were cut at 5 inches tall)
their tongues are so, so red from licking cherry pops, rotfl.

i bet you can make a nicer garland for a child's party, personalize it and embellish it any theme you have going on for the party.

here are a few more pics.

the faces are from

AND i have finally found a way to make PRETTY TINY bows with a fork.
click on this you tube video to learn how to.

see how easy this cute garland can be made and the little pretty bows too?
hope this post was of help.

now onto my teammates:

sheena

and a belated happy birthday to our dear sheena whose birthday was in the beginning of the week.

PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 9

hello all

welcome again to another episode of the pddu series. today is episode #9 and i was assigned to work with page #65: pioneer girl.
i chose the basket---accesories1 using the shift button.

Sweet
4" round
i used the wild card cart for the base (my fav card shape from this cart) and for the scallop shapes and the circle.

this color combo is one of my favorites.
that pretty cherry patterned paper is from crate: farmhouse collection. it is from a mini pad (6x6). the sweet sentiment on the tag is from a rub-on and the cherries were cut by hand from a sticker. the basket was cut at 1.75" and all edges were inked for more definition.

that strip of ric rac i found in my ribbon stash and as you can see i paper pierced the circle. the rest of the papers are from a k&co collection, maybe discontinued by now. i can't keep up with the latest collections :P but i find so many pretty papers in my stash.

now onto my teammate projects.

A STAMPED BACKGROUND CARD...my first

i know is a bit too late but i wanted to share the card i made in behalf of my son for his dad.
this is my very first stamped background card, so have mercy, lol.
i truly think i did a good job but i am not liking much the stamp under "thanks dad". i should have mask it.
anyway, here it is, without any more delay :P

"Thanks Dad"
i have seen the droplets used a lot lately for a background accent and that is what i tried to incorporate here.
i use watercolor paint and a fine brush for it: just a bit of water and paint and the flick the brush onto the cardstock to get these drops. the more saturated (more water/paint) the bigger the droplets.

the stamps are a mixed of 7gypsies (images) and g-studio for the sentiment.
i used memento chalk inks and i stamped with one color first and then very lightly with the other color for the two tone look i had in mind.
what do you think? hehe,

this card might be the first of many since i have been trying to learn more about stamping. i have been browsing and researching blogs about it for a while now.
let's see!        you know how life likes to give me so many surprises, lol.

this is the inside. i first stamped the red grid and then the sentiment. i did not have to mask because the black ink i used on top of the red.

this is the card and envelope and please do not ask me what happened to this photo, because all i can say is, it apparently "stitched" on me. this is a first too. i just noticed it while posting it. :(

well, there is a first time for everything, hehe

thanks for stopping by!!!
and,    if you like stamping too maybe this post will help you a bit.

fyi: this white cardstock is from dcwv and i love the texture it has and how the stamping looks on it. it is from an old 8x8 graduation stack i have in my stash. i do not even know if the newer ones have the same texture.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY...and daily life

hello all,
i wanted to post this cute graphic i found on
to honor our fathers.

and to update you on my surgery.
i went in to the hospital at 12:30 PM and my sugery was scheduled for 2:30 but i went in around 3:00 PM. i came home that evening because all went well but the dr said it was the worse gallbladder he had removed, lol. a bit of pain afterwards but today i am doing very good and the pain level is almost none.
thanks to all for your prayers and well wishes, they do miracles.

i will see you around on wednesday with another episode of paper dolls dress up.

PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 8

hello fellows,
as you are coming here i am in the hospital having surgery, hehe.
well wishes accepted, negatives will be discarded, lol.

anyhow, here you are to take a look at what we made this week for this awesome pddu series.
this week i had page #61 where you will also find the native american girl, a tepee, a basket, feathers and a few more accessories. that is a lot, right? this is why i chose this cart for the series. it has a bit of
almost every season/event. :P

i chose the vase and the corn stalk, yes, the cornstalk in a vase. but i think it turned out pretty cool.

Any Occasion Card
3 x 6 " tall
this color combo is nice too.
i used mini jewels from a dollar pack to adorn the vase and some small pearls for the cornstalk. this time instead inking i chalked the edges and details.
the cardstock is from dcwv. i really like that mute chevron pattern on the base.

this is the inside, simple but pretty. the patterned papers are just beautiful.

so what do you think, it worked, right?  i like to step out of the box and mix things around for fun. i am not afraid anymore about messing up my pretty papers. that was my biggest beginners fear, hehe but with so much paper in my stash i have to use before i die....i do not care anymore, lol.

lets's see what my sweet teammates made this week for the series.
--- remember clicking on the pics will give you a bigger view and clicking on my teammates names will link you to their blogs where they explain more about their projects---.

awesome clown and you do not have to be afraid of this one. he is a bundle of love. :P

beware of the rise of the apes, hehe (like the movie, i mean)

this is what dawn was doing this past weekend because.....
it was dawn's birthday this past sunday.
happy birthday to you sweet friend.
this canoe makes me go canoeing on the river behind my house :P

aren't these projects awesome this week?
(as every other week, imho)

well, this is it for this week. i do not know how i will be feeling and i really haven't been in the craft room too much lately since the weather has been beautiful and my back has been out again, :( hehe.
i tell you, i do not know what kind of stage in my life i am these days, but is not settling too well with me, lol.

see you around and
thanks again for stopping by the hut.

next episode of the PDDU series will be next wednesday, june 20th.

A HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD...easel style card

this is a card i made for my neighbor's 75th birthday celebration.
the "cake" is from a miss elizabeth's pack and the "lets's party" from a sizzlits die from sizzix.
i think this cake is so easy to replicate even if you do not own a die cutter. all you need is the paper/cardstock and a pair of scissors.

this sentiment is from one of my pink stamper clear stamp sets.
the star is a chipboard from k&co.

and this is how you make an easel card:

thanks for stopping by the hut!

PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 7

i was really stumped with this assigned page. i wanted to make the super girl but i had made many dolls already and i wanted something different.
here is what i ended up making, :-)
(i will give you a glittery sneak peek first---hehe)

Have a Super Birthday!
3.5" round card
---nice fresh and clean colors---

i looked in my stash of "cuts for another day"
(i keep changing the name because i forget what i called it before, lol)
and found this cut from my world (overlay image #14 using shift) and used it as my base.
i then cut a white circle for the background.
the small stars are from a paper punch and the big yellow one is from pddu pg #50.
the lightning bolt is also from pddu pg #51.
the small circles across the space ship were made with the crop-a-dile :P

and the inside has a stamped sentiment from my pink stamper boy crazy stamp set:
"Have a Super Birthday".
something different from my usual. i like it. :P

let's see what my teammates made for this week with their assigned page.

makes me think of dear potter

and someone had fun at a magic show, cool!

 and another futuristic project.
love this car too and the the background city makes a perfect companion, imo that is. :)

i hope you had some enjoyable time here with these cool projects from the pddu
and....thanks for stopping by the hut, i really enjoy your company!

Daily Life: on monday i went for an upper gi since my gerd has been out of control, and next wednesday i will have gallbladder surgery since i spent the day after mother's day in the emergency room with excruciating pain on my upper abdomen which turned out to be gallstones :(
not feeling too well these days, just that you know.
