A BOO BANNER...using fancy frames and blackletter

hello to all
and
welcome to flowerdiscos' scrap hut.
so glad you made it here.

i am here to share with you a halloween banner i just finished.

Boo
8.5 inches high
ETA THE FIRST PHOTO
still cannot get a good pic :(
using fancy frames i cut image#21 on the overlay at 8.5 inches high on black cardstock and the blackout feature on the beautiful green linen cardstock.
i know the pics do not do justice to the awesome banner but the days have been cloudy around here. as soon as it gets sunny again, i will replace them.

the font is from the blackletter cart and they are cut at 3.75 inches tall. i also used the shadow feature for the black layer.
using some of my faux rhinestones, i added some more well deserved bling. i also added some dritz silver eyelets to reinforce the hanging openings i made with the crop a dile. as a final touch i added some orange tulle i had in my stash. the glitter cardstock is an amazing orange color.

so very easy to make despite it took me a while to figure out  what i was going to add to it. and if you asked me i tell you it looks absolutely adorable.

just another idea for your halloween decorations and.... for those who do not have time to make them, this one is for sale at my etsy shop :P

you take care now. i will be back as soon as i can....:D

DAILY LIFE:
we have been in mourning for the loss of my brother in law. we buried him the first day of autumn after 2 weeks plus in intensive care. he was a healthy person and while at an outing with his family experienced excruciating pain due to a kidney stone and for whatever reason never recoup.
may he rest in peace.

MASON JAR...trendy mini album

hello to all,
again, i want to start thanking you all who still visit my blog and those who have the time to comment.
i know i have been neglecting this blog for a while now and even i thought i would have more time now that my son went back to college, i have not.
i have also neglected so many things in my household and bit by bits i am getting to them. i know you all understand we must have our priorities in order.
BUT,
in the bits of time i have for my lovely hobby, i like to share what i make with you all.
this is an album i have been working on. you all know i am not too trendy, but i like these jars and they seem to be popping all over. i chose this die cut from the doodlecharms cartridge (the same die cut i used HERE) to make the base for my album.

i do not have a title yet for my album cover but i am leaning towards
"Sweet Jar"
hehe
7 inches tall
the patterned papers are from dcwv berry street farmer's market. i like this paper texture very much. it resembles fabric and even when you touch it you get a different feel than regular cardstock. i thought it was ideal for the album's style of a mason jar.
the cherries are from lyrical letters, image#47 of the overlay, and it was cut at 3.25" high.

the cherries are mounted on thick chipboard, the brown stems were covered with puffy paint and heated up. the leaves were wet embossed with clear thick embossing powder.
the pocket was traced and cut by hand, and if you take a closer look, you will see i have machine stitched on all the paper edges. a bit of diamond stickle was added to the cherries.

those tags are from a jolee's collection called french general and they too have the look and feel of fabric. actually, i think they have a fabric lining on them.
the album was bounded using the bind it all.
the album has 4 pages you can use front and back what makes it 8 pages PLUS the back of the cover and the front of the back cover  makes it a 10 pages in total. Plenty of room for pictures, journaling and memorabilia.
i am happy how is turning out and i will post more pics when finished.

in the meantime,

this is how my craft room looks while in the process of making a project. :P
but at the end, i organize everything and start all over. lol.
can't leave it a mess.
my curtains at this time are two gray t-shirts, lol. they filter the light just right until i get something else or make them into real curtains and not "wanna be's".
(this window faces west and i get so much sunlight, it hurts my eyes).
i know i can change the furniture around but i am really happy so far, with this layout.

well, this is it for now.
i hope you get some ideas from this album and maybe make some and share the love.

take care!
and thank you for stopping by the hut.

HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT ...another pouch project

hello all,
i am just sharing what i have been making lately in case someone needs some ideas for their  halloween candy.

For Candy
this is the same style pouch from this post here, just the corners are not rounded on this one.

i am still using a variety of k&co embellishments on this pouches. the green border and the purple stickled bow are from martha stewart.

they are so easy to make you will get addicted too. i really do not get many trick or treaters but i need them for my neighbors and to send to college with some candy for my son and friends.

NOTES:
some more pics of the gardens.
i have been asking a relative for some stones to edge my flower beds. here is the first bundle i got. on this corner i have ferns, a hosta and a viburnum. i also have the lilly of the valley in spring.
don't look at my dying grass please, lol.... this year has been very bad for the whole yard. we had so much crabgrass and weeds i think we need to start grass again.

this is a cardinal flower and is one of the best performers i have in the yard right now.
i guess all i am doing this year are tests in the backyard, since some of them might need to be moved to a new spot. not this one. she is doing wonders and hasn't stop blooming since i put it in the ground.

this false sunflowers are in the front of the house and they have been there for a few years now and every year they struggle to survive in that spot. i promised them i will find a new spot for them and they still waiting.

it seems that the more i read about gardening stuff the worse i do :( BUT,  i am welcoming some pretty butterflies and i almost forgot to share this praying mantis.
so cool!
i have other pics that look she was posing for me.

well, this is for now...

again, thanks for stopping by!

HALLOWEEN TREAT POCKETS...using k&co embellishments

i am so happy i was able to share my "publication" news with you all and see you were all so happy for me too. thanks again!

today, i will share a few treat pockets/pouches i made that you can use not just for halloween but for any occasion you need to give some goodies away. they are so simple and i am sure you have seen them around a lot. you just have to add your personal touch to them and voila!, they are good to go.

Halloween Treat Bags
4.5" inches tall by 3" wide

hehe, i love the rat. he is from a sizzix die cute die.

all i needed was a piece cardstock cut at 7" tall by 3.25" inches wide which i folded at 2.5" to make my pouch/pocket. i cut a few other pieces of patterned paper to embellish along with some bats from a martha stewart paper punch and the 3D embellishments from k&co. so easy! and the beauty of it you can make them any size you like. you can even use fabric for the pouches if you want.

i know some of you might know to make this but others do not. i sometimes get from granted we all know how to make some things and boy, i am so wrong!
anyway, i put these up on my etsy shop, yes, yes! the one  i have been trying to get up and running again with not much success of my part (darn pain stops me from it too). anyway, i wanted to share this easy project with you all since we have some holidays coming up soon.

take care you all!

SOCCER....a shaped card

i know most of you have been published in magazines and i am so happy for you all. as for me, i almost forgot to post my first published work, lol.
i have a soccer shaped card in the september issue of the cricut magazine which is published by northridge publishing. i was so excited when i received their positive response. since then, i haven't have time to work on anything else to submit, something i would like to change, ;p but so happy this card got chosen.

Soccer
