DROP ME A LINE.....

welcome
this week's challenge is "sketch it" and our darling teammate has entertained us with a fabulous sketch to follow and/or inspire you. we also have a sponsor and our darling sponsor is
shelly from
shellysimages.com

shelly has been so kind and has donated a $9.00 voucher for one lucky challenge entry besides allowing us to  use the "beary smart" digital image on our projects for today.

here is my take on the sketch using the beary smart digital image from shelly's store;

Drop Me a Line
mini sketch book
3.5" x 4.75"
i used the beary smart image as my main element and i know you won't see how i followed the sketch, but i did. it is just my way of personalize it, i'd say. :D

sketch for this project
let me explain:
nanne has a horizontal base, i have a vertical one; nanne has the sentiment on the center, i did that too using the bear; nanne has three additional elements on her sketch: to the top left behind the sentiment is one ( i used  the pretty clouds there), the one on the bottom left ( i used some grass for that one--- had to extended to the right, but is there, lol) and the one to the right (i have the pink banner there)...so you see now? i have it all there plus some extra butterflies for a whimsical touch.
isn't he cute and happy looking surrounded by all these pretty girlie colors?, lol
he has been all paper pieced (not feeling too comfortable yet with the coloring).

drop me a line:

i colored the words individually to be able to add it to the bear's notebook.
cleverish, huh? i love it :)

here is a collage of all the angle i took pics: i did not want to overwhelmed you (wink).
adorable bear and "beary smart" too. the outline on this bear is made to look fuzzy. i am so sorry i couldn't capture it with the paper piecing. if you go to the store to check it out, you will fall in love with all that is there. shelly is a very talented and creative lady and her digital  images are so nice and elaborate.
i hope i captured some of it in my project.

Supplies Used:
bear digital image:     shellysimages.com (beary smart)
sentiment:      clear stamps (everyday sentiment)
skecth:     nann creations
patterned paper: crate paper (snowday)

other supplies from my forever hoarded stash :
clouds (digital image), glossy accents, stickles, martha stewart grass punch, bind it all and bind it all wires, ribbons, home printer, ahesive, butterfly punch, ink.

remember: the whimsical designs challenges start every wednesday and end on tuesdays. the winners of this challenge will be announced next wednesday the march 6th.

thanks so much for stopping by and if you have any questions about my project for today or anything else i can help you with, please...i am just an email away.

thanks so much for stopping by the hut

LUCKY GIRL... a digital image from our latest release

 hola muchachas,

i have been practicing the coloring and bits by bits i am getting there. this week acm has the spectrum noirs on sale 50% off and i went i got some :D
so far, i can see they blend well on my watercolor paper from strathmore but i definitely need to learn how to shade, lol. the hair on my lucky girl was not that lucky, lmbo.

this lucky girl is from the newest release at SK DIGIS and i chose her to my practice with the spectrum noirs since the dress needed a bit more coloring than what i am used to.

Lucky Girl
( i might make a tag from it)
2.75" wide x 4" tall
---you do know how much i love bright, rich colors but i must use softer hues for my coloring until i learn this coloring business (if i ever do)---, i believe it simplifies the trauma, lol

lucky girl has glassy eyes (done with glossy accents) because she did not sleep well last night, she came back from the oscars really-really late. hehe

another view  to see the stickles and, the snapshot (polaroid) frame with the stamped background and, a close view of the hair, lol....you can see i need lots of practice in the shadowing department, hehe.

and on this last pic (you can not see it because it is white) but i used washi tape, and i stamped on it the shamrocks and sentiment. i did not want to stamp right on the frame just in case i had trouble but i did not. i used a dye ink for it and it did not smear. actually, i like it a lot...it was not my intention to have it transparent, but it worked. i really like how my lucky girl turned out despite the blotchy hair :D

Supplies Used:
digital image:     sk digis (lucky girl)
patterned paper:     dear lizzy (neopolitan)
white cardstock:     georgia pacific
background stamp:     unity stamps (jars of love 3)
sentiment and shamrocks:     g-studio clear stamp
inks:     g-studio (yellow); versafine (black); clearsnap/ancient page (pine)
markers:     spectrum noir
cricut cartridge:      any cartridge with a rectangle will work. i used my gypsy to position one rectangle inside the other with the measurements i needed for my project.

so happy you stopped by to see my project.

we have our weekly challenge going on at sk digis and if you want to participate, you can click here for all the details.

see you on wednesday!

the challenges runs for a week. this challenge starts on sat feb 23 and ends on friday, march 1st.

XOXO
4.25" x 5.5
the gorgeous background paper is from the
my mind's eye
i cut the area i wanted, to include the eiffel tower in my card.

the pink tree tops (called "better") and the brown trunks (called "beautiful girl") are from the same blush collection.. if you like them (they are on sale right now), you can click here to see the whole collection.

i think is darling!

that "xoxo" is from crate paper: fourteen collection, no more in the shop. that one sold so fast.  but here is a very similar one in case you are interested in one.

now, i never had chipboard elements this thick, hehe so i had to show you, lol

wow!
anyway, i used my darling cricut expression for the trees. they are from the stamping cartridge, image #12. oh, and the tiny chipboard heart is also from the crate paper fourteen.

well, this is it for now,
i hope you like as much as i do.

thanks for stopping by, i have you in my heart!

i gave this to my darling husband on valentine's day. i hope he does not take advantage of it.
 (wink-wink)

i made 5 mini pages with 5 love coupons to be used at anytime.

here is my collage
this booklet turned out adorable, imho and my hubby loved it. the tickets read: love, good for a kiss anytime, good for one hug anytime, one kiss: no expiration and naughty or nice? (from a christmas stamp--hehe).

i won't bore you with the directions because if you need my help with it you can ALWAYS email me with your questions or write them in the comments section and i will get back to you asap.

SKETCHY FRIDAY #7...USING THE "LUCKY CLOVER"

hello all
back here after enjoying working with another sketchy friday challenge. today, i am using an image of the newer release for st. patrick's day: the lucky clover... lately, we have had a share of not so good life twists and that is what made me use this image.
you all know i do the manual fuzzy cutting for these images since i do not own one of those cutter that do :( and i find it so easy working with these images. anyway, let me show you.

Lucky Clover
3.25" x 4.25"
the clover is the main image of the digi selection but it has many other smaller elements you can use any way you need or like. it has smaller clovers, different smaller circles/dots: you can see the entire digital image HERE

this image plus a few more elements is only a dollar...yeap...you read it right!

i tried so hard to stay within this week's sketch. :D---for some reason i have the need of changing things, lol.

TIP: when i print my digi's i use a microsoft word program, set my page size (any size my printer allows me), set all  margins to .25" and "insert" a pic from file (which in this case will be my digi image). i then can re size it to any size i need or want. for this part i use the handles around the image. last, i print.

Supplies Used:
patterned paper:     mme (lost & found two)
stickpins:     webster pages (feb. sprinkle box)
sentiment:     g studio clear stamps
markers:     tim holtz distressed markers
other:     my supplies

i sure hope you join us this week.
note that the sketchy friday's challenges run from friday to thursday: this one starts today, the 15th and ends on the 21st. you have a whole week to work on your project and you do not even need sk digis. you can use your own, just follow the sketch. if you do not have any digis, sk digis has a freebie section too.

thanks so much for stopping by!

A BOUQUET OF PAPER FLOWERS

hello and welcome

this week's challenge is called"
3, 2, 1

you might ask yourself: what is that? it is a very simple challenge and all you need is to add a "3" of something (buttons, brads, flowers) to your project, then you add "2" of something else and finally the "1" of something-something else, :-)
these are examples only and you use whatever fits better on your project.
 (wink-wink)

here is my take on this challenge and as you can see it is a bit different of what i normally make: which are cards.

A Flower Bouquet
base 8" tall
"wishing you a beautiful day"
-i mean it too-

hold on now!
"3" flowers

one eyelet plus

another eyelet = "2"

and,
"1" button
3, 2, 1
challenge done,
hehe
i hope you enjoyed my design and post for today.
i was going through so much when i was writing this post i needed to  laugh with you or that i made you laugh at me, lol. whatever! do not mind :D

anyway, i had so much fun thinking what my items will be and i think the result is totally awesomeness!
"Wishing You a Beautiful Day"
i always wanted to try this cone image and did not have the time until now
sorry about being a bit blurry.
i took so many pics and still couldn't get a better one.

hello sweet followers and friends

i was very delightful with all the images but decided to use the pot of gold.

So Happy
4" x 6"
---no coloring here but paper pieced all of it---

i forgot to take a pic in an angle for you to see i wet embossed the shamrocks with glossy accents. the gold coins were half stickled in yellow and half wet embossed. i did some stitching trying to follow the sketch for this week's challenge. that cloth pin looks real but is not. it comes with the polaroid frame i used.
what do you think? do you like it as much as i do?
paper pieced or colored, these images are great to work with.

DROP ME A LINE....

and let me know how did you like the projects on the hops i was participating in this weekend?
i loved every single project the ladies from both teams made to inspire you: the pumpkin spice blog and the whimsical designs team. Ladies, you are so very super talented, yay!
i had a blast! and i hope you did too.
(next hop i will have some candy for a lucky one)

anyway,

i made this card and i think it is just adorable and it is so easy to make.

Drop me a Line
5in wide x 4in tall
(clicking on the pics will give you a bigger view)
---it took me longer to get the right light to photograph than the making this card. our days have been cloudy and cold and not much nice natural light coming in---.

i embossed the background, made a skinny banner of a strip of patterned paper to stamp my sentiment on, added a piece of jute fuzzing a bit with the ends, punched some clouds and some dots. the round circle was also punched to pop my colored fish. and lastly added some glossy accents to the fish eye and to the dots, some glitter to the fish body and clouds (and i did this using a small coloring brush so i did not get much on my fingers).
and i love the sentiment: drop me a line! super cute along the fish digi image, :D

Supplies Used:
white base cardstock and kraft cardstock:  carta bella (whisper white, midnight black/bone brown
pink and blue patterned paper: basic grey (lucille)
 digital image: SK DIGIS (fish)
clouds; circle: fiskars paper punches
dots: ek paper punches (swiss cheese)
clear medium: glossy accents
embossing folder: sizzix/tim holtz/woodgrain folder
water color paper: strathmore
embossing machine and die cutter: cuttlebug

thanks for stopping by!

anyhow, this blog hop  is ALL ABOUT LOVE, after all we are already entering the month of february.
and of course, you can't get away from cards when you are here at flowerdisco's scrap hut. hehe

she is from the doctor check up cricut cartridge (hence what the doctor ordered, above, hehe) and you will find her on page 29, if interested. i cut her at 4 inches tall.

instead the heart that comes with that image, i punched out some butterflies and added the one in place of the heart.
NOW, if you want, click on the pic to better see how nice that whimsical design stamp stamped, yay!!! fabulous!!! if you ask me.

the background papers are from carta bella: beautiful moments.
