JUST A CUTE CARD...i made for a guest designer spot at

it was so nice to be invited to this blog. i met georgina (the host diva) at whimsical designs. she is one of my teammates there. really nice gal.

anyhow, here is the project i made for their blog.

Any Ocassion Card
4" x 5.5"
pretty-pretty card!

since they are die cuttin' divas i needed to use die cuts in my project, right?...of course!

the pink embossed area was done using the "shall we dance" cricut cartridge and then embossed with a tim holtz sizzix embossing folder using my cuttlebug. i then inked it a bit with some brown and some white ink.
the pretty clouds and the circle are from a paper punch. i added some glossy accents to that center.
the flower was cut using "florals embellished"---another cricut cartridge.

the scallop was done using birthday bash. the border was done with more punches.

the patterned papers are:
chevron: heidi swapp
travel themed paper: me and my big ideas
and,
the pretty twine is from the may card kit from artful delight.

as i mentioned before this is an any occasion card and i left it blank (no sentiment)  for that very purpose. when the time comes, i just need to add a sentiment for whatever occasion i need it.

i am very happy i was able to produce such a pretty card for the die cuttin divas guest designer spot.

thanks for stopping by!

A PUMPKIN SPICE PROJECT...using a die cut negative

hello all,
today is my turn to post at the
pumpkin spice
and
you all know i love making cards and while in need of another sympathy card, here is what  made.

Comfort
5" square card
looking what papers would look nice on my sympathy card i found the stella rose 6 x 6 pad from my mind's eye and i had forgotten how beautiful they are. i chose a few of them for my card and they are all here for your to enjoy!

some machine stitching and some pretty flowers along with a paper border complete this easy and pretty to make handmade card.
i used the cricut cartridge cindy loo for the word comfort and i used the negative of it in my card.
i hope you like it!

Have a Beautiful Day!

CELEBRATE!

hello all,
welcome to the flowerdisco's scrap hut!

today is my turn to share what i made for artful delight using their fabulous may card kit. i think i already told you i am in love with the color combo in this kit and with all the goodies that come within. in this card i used the rub-on's as my main element and i also used one of the most beautiful buttons i have ever seen...i know it is bit exaggerated but the button and the colors are really-really pretty :)

Celebrate
3.5" x 5"
see how pretty this button is?
as you can see i also used the tiny alpha's to spell my sentiment.

and look at the pretty cityscape, clouds and sun...they are all rub on's that i colored in with my markers.
due to the rub-on nature they turned a bit blotchy but i still loved the look and decided to left it as is
a bit of stickles for the radiant sun...i believe they are celebrating Memorial Day despite the non-traditional colors...see the firework?

Happy Memorial Day!
to all of you and to the ones who gave their lives for ours.
---a minute of silence for them all---
this is how i do it for some holidays...i give them a minute of silence in where i give them all my heart and thoughts in appreciation.

and this is my sweet card for the artful delight design team and the end of my first month with them.
soon, we will be showcasing the june kit so keep your eyes open. :P

remember, artful delight has their challenges in which you can win a kit of choice.
this is the link to the blog where you can follow up with this challenge.

thank you so much for stopping by and i will see you later this week.

hope you CELEBRATE your holiday weekend!

U R THESE AND MORE...a viewfinder image from the cutting cafe

this is one of the newest and cutest (if possible) sets from the cutting cafe.
---a viewfinder---
I have seen them around a lot lately, so many uses and so much fun.

i used the pdf file and again i cut it by hand. it was really easy to do since the cuts are so simple.
i love that regina made the black reel too and if you want you can add a brad in the center and have it rotate...how much fun is that? a lot! :)

here i used one of the phrases and i manipulated within the document to use the part i needed and made a small banner tag with it.

what a beauty!
i love the colors i chose. the patterned paper is from an older basic gray and the pink is from an older single sheet from ki i had collected. it was a double sided one and i chose it because the other side was green for my leaves.  the flower is from the flower shoppe cricut cartridge and my first time using it.

here are all the file details:

This VIEW FINDER REEL FUN SET features the following:
4 assorted reels: UR, BIRTHDAY, KEEP CALM and HAVE A GREAT SUMMER
1 Reel template - this template comes in PDF, SVG, MTC and WPC format.
1 shaped card - this template comes in PDF, SVG, MTC and WPC format.
2 different reel envelopes (one plain one and one with a hole in the middle) - these template comes in PDF, SVG, MTC and WPC format.
7 envelope labels - tags
2 misc reel images.
All of the images come in PDF and JPEG format.

don't you want to stop by the cutting cafe and see what else is there for your enjoyment?
here is the link to the blog and from there you can stop by the shop if you want.
 have fun!

also, thank you so much for visiting!

SONG INSPIRED...using stickers on your card

this is my take on the challenge this week ("Song Inspired"),
the first thing that popped in my mind when i read the theme was that song that is about the pina colada and dancing in the rain, hehe, yeah, figure that one out :)

but first a note about our sponsor for this week:

3 Girl Jam

Live Out Loud and Dance in the Rain
3.5" x 5"
i had so much fun with this card.
i used a pad from heidi grace i had purchased at j's a while ago. the patterns are so "whimsical" and i found one with the umbrellas and if you look close the blue background has written on it "singing in the rain"..cool!
i used the fancy frames cricut cartridge for my base including the mini polaroid frame and the clouds are from a frightful affair (another cricut cart).

READ CAREFULLY :P: "live out loud" and "take life by the hand and dance"..but i just used the "and dance" and for "in the rain" i used my own alpha stamps.
what a mix!
hehe

here is my completed card and you can see why i had so much fun with it. the rain boots are darling and they are a die cut from the same collection and so are the musical notes. and the patterned paper is awesome and cut so well in my die cutter.

you decide if you want to join us in this another fun challenge
or at least check us out. see what kind of projects we come up with and use them as inspiration. the winner is randomly picked, you have nothing to loose.
i hope you do join us....it is a nice prize after all
(wink-wink)

thanks so much for stopping by!

KEEP CALM AND...soak up the sun

hello,
i want to share with you another project i made for the cutting cafe blogspot.
all is hand cut (except what is done in yellow) since i do not own one of those machines. and... for your info i just realized i used blue and brown on a prior project for the same blog, lol.

Keep Calm and...
7" x 5.5"
This KEEP CALM AND... WORD SHAPED CARD template - cutting file is approx. 5.25 by 4 inches. It will fit inside a A2 sized envelope.
The set comes with 10 sentiments, in two different styles.
The files comes in the following formats: PDF, WPC, SVG and MTC.
The letters also come individually in the set.
These word shaped cards are also good for scrapbooking layouts.

NOTE: as you can see i was able to re-size my card within the pdf doc prior to transfer to my word doc program.

after cutting the desired digital images, i inked all the edges for more definition. i also punched some tiny flowers, a border and the tiny flowers gold centers. i also made a bigger flower to unify my project.

i printed the sentiment on the same yellow patterned cardstock i used for the flowers and border. i chose to cut it apart, inking each section and re arranging it in a straight sentence just for a bit of fun.  i also added more tiny gold circles to the left to complete my card.
despite the fact i have to hand cut these files and it is much more work i can really say it is a handmade card, lol.

but the truth is i feel so bad because i do not think i am doing justice to regina's work and compare myself with others who own the machine and i feel bad and sad. but i will try my best to do a good "hand cutting" job for regina and for you all.

and this is why this card makes me happy. i was able to stay calm and...
work with i have and then soak up the non existent sun (it was rainy when i made this card, lol)

thanks again for stopping by the hut,
you know i appreciate it.

you can also click here to see what my awesome and talented team mates have made for the cutting cafe.

I APPRECIATE YOU...a square card made with a square envelope

i am using products of my darling may kit from

I Appreciate You
4.5 square card
i took apart the medium square envelope that came in the kit and cut my patterned paper accordingly to cover each section of the envelope and traced the flap and cut itout by hand  i punched out the small holes on the flap with my crop-a-dile.

i used the stamp set also included in the kit for my sentiment and use the arrow stickers to point to it.
as you can see i distressed all papers including the envelope. the clear stickers are awesome!

the patterned paper is also a darling reminding me of a watercolor painting.

all my supplies used for this card are from the kit except the small kraft heart.

i have linked the pic to the store so you can see in details what is in it.

thanks so much for stopping by!
---have a great week---

A PUMPKIN SPICE PROJECT...tags

hello all,
i certainly hope you all had a great mother's day weekend.
mine was fab. we went to salem, mass before bringing our son home from college and we had a beautiful time.  now we are back home and happy as well.

today is my turn for the pumpkin spice and i made a cute trio of tags using the carta bella papers and stickers from the beautiful moments collection. i still can't get enough of it. i love it and i know is a bit old by now but you can still find it.

ETA: on may 24th i entered these tags in a moxie fab challenge (this challenge will end on june 3rd---so hurry up you yoo---lol)

A Tag Trio
1.5" by 3.25" tall
i used the sizzix tim holtz metal die for the tags and the reinforcements.

patterned papers are all carta bella in conjunction with the stickers.
i did use some foam dots to raise some of the stickers and give my tags dimension.
the dots on the "pretty" tag are from my minds eye and the jute is from lara's crafts.

an easy project when in need to add some pizzaz to any gift.

thanks so much for stopping by!

HI...a card made using my fab may kit from artful delight

i told you before how happy i am with the may kit received from artful delight

and here is another cute card i made with it.

Hi
6" x 3.5"
all the card supplies are from the kit
(i punched out the leaves with a paper punch but the paper used for the leaves is from the kit too)

i added some foam tape to the grey medallion for dimension and hand cut the white, the pink strips into a banner and the white with pink letter are two flags from a banner that comes with the kit. they broke on me so i used them on top for even more dimension.

love the colors in this kit
i can see my style going in a total opposite direction of what i am used to do. when you buy the kits all is there, already combined for you and it makes it so much easier and it inspires you to create in a way you never thought you could do.
this is my experience and my opinion; we are all different.

but, i am so happy with my card.
delight yourself!
-wink-

here is the link for artful delight and you can delight yourself :)

thanks for stopping by...i love when you do :)

WHAT'S BREWING MOM?...having a cup of coffee at the cutting cafe

but first of all:
Happy Mother's Day!
i should be coming back home soon from boston from getting my son back from college.
it is my greatest gift of them all.
hope you are having a great day too!

this is my second project for
and we were asked to use the coffee shaped card cutting file
i just did not use it as a shaped card but as a tag.
this jar was given away as a small appreciation gift for mother's day to one of my sweet neighbors.

What's brewing?
tag
2.75 inches tall
so super cute!
(the colors are darker than it is showing on this photo: the brown is darker and the blue is a darker baby blue)
you all know i do not own a cameo or mtc or anything like it so i cut by hand and this cup was easy to cut.

here you can see the re-purposed glass jar and the band i cut to embellish it.
the "what's brewing" sentiment and heart also come with this file.

here you can see the coffee beans inside the glass jar and a bit of embossing i did to that red strip.

below i linking the info to the file specific page and also added what this cute file comes with.
i had fun working with this file. i used the pdf version of it and all the instructions to work with them are on the shop in case, like me, you are not too familiar with it. easy to use tough and if you encounter any problems along the way, regina is also just one click away.

A BASEBALL SIGN...an altered frame

welcome
i bet you have lots of things you can alter, lots of things you can make prettier. lots of things that deserve a facelift.
(and, i am not talking about me here, ok?--lol)

i found this little frame made of super thick chipboard and i used it for the base of today's project.

Baseball Plaque
3.5 inches wide by 7 inches tall
i also found an 8 x 8 baseball kit that needed to be dusted off and given some use.
i used a  clear stamp set to make my own background on the banner behind the jersey (baseball shirt) where i repeatedly stamped the sentiment "You're a Super Star".
it was just what i needed for this cute plaque.

the rest of the elements used are from the 8 x 8 kit i mentioned earlier.
the name i cut using my cricut expression and the doodletype font cartridge.
this is so cute!
i am so happy i was able to make my own background for the banner.

and this is it for today me dear. i let you see a bit more of what the challenge is about and i really, really hope you join us every week. there is always a nice prize waiting for a lucky entry.

WELCOME TO MY FIRST POST FOR THE CUTTING CAFE

hello all,
so happy to show you the rest of my sneak peek of my first project for my new team.
i am sure you know regina easter. she was the owner of the original bitten by the bug blog where she had another fabulous team creating projects using the cricut. when she closed it down she started working with her own digital images and opened
i was on the bitten by the bug2 team with heather, who came after the first was closed down. i had so much fun there too but i was dealing with lots of life stuff at the time and couldn't stayed for long.
anyway, that is a little of a background for you to know why i am so happy i am working with regina's files.
i always admired her work and i am so happy and proud to finally made it to her team. a bit apprehensive but i think is normal. you will be too if you see what these talented ladies in her team are all about.

i chose an oldie file for my project.
there are so many i would have loved to work with but i had to choose one and i chose the
 summer fun
my card is a round card
enough of the sneak peek, right? hehe
--i stamped the background waves with a so old wooden stamp from plaid i believe i could call it vintage right now--

the umbrella, the sandals, the beach bum sign and the starfish are included in the bundle. these are not the only images in this set, there are many more. actually, they are 33 images in this printable stamp set.
here is the link to the summer set and i warn you,
you will be amazed at all the gorgeous files regina has in her shop. and you will drool when you see all the inspiration offered. oh my, i can't hardly contain my excitement.

now, a bit about my card
the base for my card was done with the cricut cart called life's a party. i punched the two holes on the left with the cropadile to insert the pretty ribbon i found in my stash.  i made that cute bow with the help of a fork. i colored my images with the spectrum noirs alcohol markers. i am still avoiding the shading, lol.

NOTE: for some of you who are not familiar with regina's blog, anyone who comments is automatically enter to win some digital stamps from her shop. yeap, that is right, you heard well...a chance to win some free digis if you comment on her blog. you can also subscribe to her newsletter so you do not miss any news.

and this is it for now.

thanks you so very much for stopping by.
xoxo

my card for today goes to all of you with love.

Dearest Mommy
3.5"inches wide by 5 inches tall
for my card base i use the cricut cartridge Just Because Cards. i also used the cuttlebug for my dry embossing.
the beautiful patterned papers are from my mind's eye, the  six by six  paper pad called
a mother's love and another favorite of mine the lost and found two collection called sunshine.

the elements for my card were die cut using a spellbinder die. i am pretty impressed by how nice these dies cut too. i do not own many and i think this is the first time i used one. this specific one is by donna salazar.

the sentiment was a circle from the a mother's love pad that i adjusted a bit and the sewing was done with my sewing machine. i am always amaze how a little sewing adds so much to a project. the pink enamel dots on some of the scallops are also from my mind's eye the sweetest thing collection. i am in love with them.

SKETCHY FRIDAYS NEWS

hello

and a huge happy mother's day to all!

 i have some sad news:

this week we are closing down
"Sketchy Friday".
I am so sorry to see it go but it is a decision sonia made. She knows better and she knows the Y's.

i want to thank all of you who came to my blog from Sketchy Friday. i appreciate you taking the time to come over because you liked my project using sonia's digis.
who knows what the future holds for sketchy friday, if any. :(

thank you sonia for giving me the opportunity to enjoy your super cute images and i wish you the best my friend.

here is a card i had made for my turn next friday but since there is no more sketchy friday i am sharing it with you today. :)

sonia has these gorgeous butterflies in her shop and i chose my favorite one for today's project BECAUSE, sonia will keep her SK DIGIS store open and sonia will continue designing, you can still enjoy her designs. that is a huge plus, lol.
we won't loose it all :)

anyway, this is my card for you today
Fluttering by to Say Hi
3.5" x 5" tall
the butterflies were cut by hand and the jar was cut using my cricut expression.

i used vellum for the jar and my spectrum noirs for the coloring.
(since my butterflies were printed at 1 inch and 3/4 inch high, i chose to cut off the antennas to make it easier to cut by hand, but they do come with the antennas)

i also added some other butterflies inside the jar along with some glitter)
i also loved all the papers i chose for this card.
and the stamped sentiment is adorable too and i loooove that font.
i hand cut that extra bottom piece in patterned paper. i think it added so much to the jar.

SUPPLIES USED
IN THE MAKING OF MY CARD
digital image:     SK DIGIS
patterned papers:     fact from basic grey (red) and traditions from carta bella (blue/yellow)
yellow enamel dot:     my mind's eye
vellum
cotton twine

any questions? please contact me and always remember to
click and share

thanks for stopping by and have a super beautiful MOTHER'S DAY weekend!
