WE ARE THE WINGS....a handmade card for the cutting cafe

hello all...
i am welcoming you to my blog today with a beautiful sentiment and card from
this file is called social butterflies and i immediately fell in love with this image and its sentiment.

"We are the Wings of a Butterfly, bound together with the Love of God"
4.25" x 6"
-sorry about the cloudy/washed out pic here-
(maybe i am not used to soft colors and i think is washed out)
once again, i used the pdf doc file for this card.
i printed out on patterned paper and the with the x-acto knife i cut out the leaves to back them up with a patterned paper. at first, i was thinking to color them in  but changed my mind. i think the twist of thoughts turned out much better and it was a fun.

i did some of the zig zag stitching to secure all the layers together in place of adhesive.
(after  securing them in the middle with my atg, just a short diagonal line)

please, remember i cut by hand and not all is perfect, especially when i drop my x-acto knife with my last new blade  on the floor, and the tip broke, lol.

i hope you try this, it is nicer in real life...the pics are awful. so sorry!
i will try to re shoot and re placed them.
ETA: took new photos/replaced them but still couldn't get any better....i am leaving them like this---so sorry.

this social butterfly set comes with 22 images and it has more than a dozen individual butterflies and a few sentiments, including some round ones.
there is another pretty sentiment you are going to love.

i hope you have a great sunday and a better week.

thanks for stooping by!

A HANDMADE TAG...in a blast of color

what a great day we had this past tuesday. they had a storm warning and the weather cooled down a bit with a nice fresh breeze. i went out to enjoy the day, did some errands and when came back it was already drizzling. great time to enjoy some short crafting time before making dinner.
it never stormed, the sun came out pretty much after the short rain and it gave me plenty of time to take some great pics against my gorgeous "all year around" (not hardy) geraniums .
---sweet mother nature here and a tag---

24/7
Take Note
Tag
wow, do your eyes hurt yet with all this blasting of colors here?...lol

i used my artful delight june card kit for all except the cotton twine and the punched cloud and bottom edge.

the mini tag, the take note (both stickers) and the patterned papers are from the 24/7 collection from simple stories. the solid super thick red cardstock is from bazzill.

debbie, these geraniums pics are for you!!!

the trendy typewriter and the garbled text were stamped using the hero stamps set included in the kit. i added some glossy accents to the type keys and used one of my paper punches for the bottom edge.
perfect companion for the typewriter.

and here is the colorful tag and colorful geraniums, hehe.
---two for the price of one (bogo)---

hope you like my last minute tag...
if you like to see more of the kit you can click above on the artful delight link.

thank you so much for your visit.

have you been getting a lot of spam lately? i have been trying not to add the word verification but i have to be honest..i have been thinking about it a lot but at the same time i have been  fighting against it.
let's wait and see.

hope you are having a great week!

A MINI BANNER...school days

hello all and welcome to the my blog!

it is my turn to remind you of all the good sales we have at the pumpkin spice shop and

i am sharing with you a mini banner i made using some designer paper by my mind's eye which i made using my cricut expression.

i know school is out but that does not mean teachers stop being teachers and some are taking some of their time off to think of ideas on how to revamp their classrooms and...
this is where my banner will go and hang pretty.

School Days
12 sections banner
you can find all the supplies here or at least something similar.
---the font is from all mixed up and the smiley cards, both are cricut cartridges---

the green is more like a lime green, it looks totally different in these pics :(

i cut each section approx. 4 inches tall and i used the pretty pennant cricut cartridge for the triangles.

i think it turned out so cute.
i made this banner as a token of gratitude for someone i appreciate. i hope she'll like it.
i will also upload it to my etsy shop and if you see it among my listings, you know is a duplicate, not this one...this is a gift.  :P

i am going to make it short for you today since i know you are all enjoying the weather...
i see you next time.

take care and again, thanks for stopping by!

i still on my mission of "clicking and sharing" but i am getting lazier, hehe.

A JOURNALING POCKET...using my june card kit from artful delight

hello all,
hope you all had a great weekend.
we had beautiful weather and of course did some more yard work and also went for a ride in the country.
awesome scenery!

today is my turn to post for artful delight.
and to make something other than a card i made this cute journaling pocket. in my mind it has various uses and i can assure you will find another purpose for it too.
so easy to make!

Joy
5" x 3"
first i want to say all the supplies are from the kit.
the extras are my adhesive, sewing machine and thread.

i cut the super thick yellow cardstock base to a 7-1/4" x 3" and scored at 2-1/4" inches. the patterned papers were cut a 1/4" smaller.

i then adhered them with a bit of glue in the center so i can sew them without gluing my sewing needle. i did some zig zag stitching first (while the pocket was open) and then went and did a regular stitch around it to close the edges.
i used the fork method for the tiny ribbon using the red twine and added one of the second set of stick pins in the kit. i also added a journaling page in the pocket. did i already tell you i heart that heart against the polka red dots. well, i do :P

i had to show off the floral paper in this kit too. i think is stunning and it even has some texture to it. awesome!

at the end i added that little handle on the top left just for fun and added the pretty "hi" brad . i like to leave the ends of my thread "fluttering" around. i think it gives the project a whimsical touch.
and... this is my non card project for you today. :P

pss!...hope you entered our monthly challenge.
the prize for a lucky entry is a monthly kit of their choice, nice, huh?

 this is it for today.

wish you all a great week!

LOCALLY GROWN...a strawberry treat box

who does not like strawberries?
i haven't met one person who does not like them.
i love them in smoothies, i even put a bit of hershey's chocolate syrup when making them, :P
YUMMY!

this time my strawberries come in a pdf doc from the cutting cafe and this treat box is a darling to work with.

Locally Grown
hehe
not including the handle this box measures approximately 3-1/4 inches high by 6-1/2 (from strawberry to strawberry)---but you can resize it to your liking.
you know i cut by hand, and i am just saying it again because sometimes i have to get creative.
those tiny seeds are bigger on the file but my hands are bad so i got mine from the negative residues of one of my paper punches, hehe. so, do not let not owing a digi cutter stop you if you like these files. just have to get creative and make with what you have in your stash. wink-------

a pic from above

i attached the handle with some tiny eyelets

see the cute sentiment? i love it....i am all for locally grown, recycling, re-purposing...oh yeah!
i love the pretty flower too.

there are so many files at the cutting cafe and they are so reasonably priced. you get a lot for your buck there. this is why i am so happy to be in the dt. i get to showcase some of the files and enjoy myself while making them. it has been a great journey so far.

also, you will find tons of inspiration for all kind of projects.
have fun and thank you for stopping by.

---below is the info about this strawberry treat box file all linked to the cafe---

LAND OF THE FREE...using a digital stamp

welcome to another challenge.
i am so super late with this project i did not even send it yet.

time has been flying around like a "bee here and bee there" and i have been lacking craft time but however i was able to produce another sign. i love signs and this one i will be using in conjunction with other 4th of july decorations for our get together. i was planning to make a banner but a sign will do for now. i will make the banner later.

our sponsor this week is
eureka stamps.
they will be giving 5 free digi stamps of your choice to the winner.
thanks so much eureka stamps. they were also very nice to provide the dt with another free digi stamp of our choice. i chose the below background stamp and i love it.

now, onto my sign...this will become the center of my banner. it is a big sign/pennant section measuring 8 inches tall because i want to show it off.

Land of the Free
look how gorgeous!
i love that blue color. i used my spectrum noirs markers to color in this huge image.
i went and sat on the deck, with lulu by my side and spend a bit amount of time coloring and relaxing. i think i use the entire ink in the marker, hehe.

did you noticed the design on the letters?
i did that with a hole puncher, the one you have to use a hammer to punch, lmbo....i think it was the first hole puncher i bought before the crop a dile and i still use it a lot. it is a very handy tool indeed. i think it was the perfect touch. i backed the sign with the same yellow paper i made the stars to give the illusion of lights behind...like one of those hollywood like signs you see.

the Land of the Free phrase comes from the cricut cartridge called "stand and salute". i used the craft room because my gypsy was giving me some problems and i have to say i really liked it. i am still in doubts about syncing my gypsy to the craft room...i need some advice on it.

i also punched some stars out and staggered them around the background.

i went outside in the morning and took the picture using the natural light of a beautiful morning.

and this is it for now, :P

thanks so much for stopping by!

---i appreciate your company---

A HELLO CARD...using an artful delight card kit

first i want to say that my weekend was dedicated to entertaining but before that we worked in the yard. so much to do. this weekend we trimmed down some huge branches from the locusts trees in the backyard. that was a huge chore. we still have to do lots of prunning.
anyhow, i hope your father's day was a happy one too.

now onto my card.

Hello
4" x 5"
i am loving the cork board stickpins...absolutely darling!
all the products used in this card are from the Artful Delight's june card kit.

these pic is showing some of the patterned papers you will receive. the colors are beautiful and the designs on them are soooo pretty.

the card kit has a 12 x 12 stickers page which includes all kind of trendy icons and sentiments plus alphas.
the "best day" ever and "today" are stickers from it.

the polaroid  frame by itself was nice but adding that sticker made it pop even more..

i am just very happy with my card.

the artful delight blog has a monthly challenge where you can win a kit of your choice. you have to go there to link and read the guidelines. here is the link.

the pic below shows the june's card kit. they also have a scrapbooking monthly kit too.
check them out while you are there.
this is it for now, you take care until next time.

thank you so much for stopping by the hut, i love your visits.
 and...remember to

click and share!

LOVE MAKES A HOUSE A HOME...using a pdf file from the cutting cafe

this week we had two choices to work with:
i chose the house shaped card but the welcome home set is even prettier than this one and......
perfect for coloring, yeah! that is right :)
there are tons of sentiments to choose from, invitations, houses and more.

Love Makes a House a Home
isn't that the truth?
4.5" x 5.5"
just a peek first, ok? i want to drool a bit longer over this pretty patterned paper first, :P
hehe
i cut everything by hand again and this time i used an x-acto knife.

i did some dry embossing on the roof and on the chimney using my cuttlebug with some embossing folders.
all edges have been lightly inked for some definition.
the pretty red flowers peeking out of the windows were stamped and colored in.

some paper punched grass, more dry embossing and the cute sentiment i chose propped on a wooden stick made from textured cardstock to make it look like a sign on the front yard.

i think this house files are awesome and easy to put together
i am not shy with them any longer :P

NOTE: you can find both files clicking on their names above and to see the cutting's cafe blog to check out projects done with the shop's file: you click here.

thank you so much for stopping by

A PUMPKIN SPICE PROJECT...mini gift cards

i was thinking about graduation parties and chose to make some gift tags, not just for the graduate but for any occasion. i made three of them.

Congratulations, Let's Celebrate and Sweet Friend
3.5" x 2.5" when folded
i used my cricut expression to die cut the gift cards using a cartridge called cindy loo
(image #50 on the overlay)
i also used some patterned paper from my mind's eye, some chipboard from crate company and a sticker from dcwv.
the sentiments were stamped using clear stamps.

this is an olive green color, so sorry i couldn't captured it well but even in that color it looks awesome.
they turned super cute and i know i will be making more of them.

i will be submitting the one that says "CONGRATULATIONS" for this week's challenge at the pumpkin spice.

thanks you so much for stopping by!

CELEBRATE THE EVERYDAY...using my artful delight june card kit

have you checked these Artful Delight kits out yet?

they are packed with goodies. this is my second kit and i am so very pleased with every single item. they are all new trendy stuff and the quality is great too.

i wanted to make something different and made a wall sign for my entrance wall.
anyway, for the base i used a kaisercraft super thick board i had bought and it was part of a DIY calendar. i might even use it as a calendar cover. duh! i did not think about it until now when i am writing this, lol.

Celebrate the Everyday
7.5" square
these papers come already cut in the cards kit: the top and the bottom one are two different pieces united by those little blue flags/pennants i embossed. i like the look of that cork in the background.
the pretty brad is mounted on a fabric circle.

and moving a bit down the bottom you can see i used the mini alphas for 2013 and a sticker: for the record.

i also added more stickers to make a side border with different saying and i also added a red twine and used that as a the hanging part too. i thought it was a nice addition.

i also did the back with another pretty paper and brought back the red twine.

and here is the finished project.
another fun project and i can use it for different things, even a gift i want too, :P---that is after i display it in my home---wink!---you know some friends come to your house and say :oh, i love that!!!...and then i can say...well, you can have it! it was handmade by me from the heart.

here is the kit again and a reminder to join in our challenge. the prize for a lucky participant is a kit of your choice...can't ask for a better prize. you will be delighted..trust me!

there is more ideas in the blog made by my awesome partners from the artful delight design team.

i will see you around and thank you for stopping by

HAPPY DAD'S DAY...a beach scene card

this week at the cutting cafe we were asked to make a project using an image from the "cruisin by  to say hi (printable set)" OR the "shirt and tie" (cutting file).

when i saw this cute sports vehicle i was thinking i would like to take my hubby to the beach for father's day but since that won't be possible i decided to create a beach scene card to make him drool on his day...hehe

and since this is a printable file i had the choice to color it in or use one already colored.

Happy Dad's Day
3.5" x 4.5"
first, i printed out the car on regular white cardstock and then i printed out the top (blue/yellow area) and on some patterned paper. you can see the graphics pattern on it. i did color the bottom of the car to make it darker (it comes in gray). and popped the top on some dimensional foam adhesive...it looks so cooler in real life.
do not laugh at the sand paper.....it  is soooooo old...lol-- but perfect for my beachy scene.

i also used an embossing folder to emboss the clouds, some paper punches to punch out more clouds which i added on top of some of the embossed ones, a cricut cartridge for the palm tree and the sun and another punch for the starfish.
you can't see it well but i also added some glossy accents to the rims, headlights the car steel frame and trunk of the palm tree. i stamped the sentiment despite the file comes with so many sentiments. i just forgot about it. shame on me!
anyway,
i had so much fun making working with this file and i think my hubby will be pleased.

below is the file i used linked to the cutting cafe, if you want to see a lot more.

enjoy your week!
and thank you so much for stopping by flowerdisco's scrap hut

A VINTAGE CHALLENGE...this time using a balsa box

welcome
this week we are going vintage, wohoo!
i love vintage but i was so freaking stressed out about this project wanting to come out at least decent since i haven't go vintage in a long while, :P

i used this balsa box i received along other goodies from a dear friend and did my best to make it look vintage.
i think these boxes are sold at michaels'.

our sponsor this week is
"Scrapping Memories"
and they are offering 5 free files of winner's choice
Cool!

anyhow here is my project,

Postcards
vintage look balsa box
this is my first cluster of flowers...at least i do not remember making anything like it, hehe. these flowers are all beautiful but i am in love with the callas (the little pinky ones). i even added a stickpin from webster pages i had in my stash.
the sentiment (xoxo tag) is from a stamp. i almost forgot about adding it. crazy days!

the paper is from recollections. the metal tag, the leather postcard strip and the key are all vintage in my craftroom, lol. i had them since the beginning of my paper crafts adventure and i remember i was then in love with all vintage and travel stuff, hehe, but never used.
does it sounds familiar?
anyone?
*-*'

i painted the balsa box black first (so if i missed a spot when applying the patterned paper it wouldn't show up much)  and used modge podge to adhere the paper and then i used my glue gun for the rest. i had to watch some you tube videos to inspire me, not that i could even get close to all the work involved in altering these cute boxes.

at the end, i am pleased with what i came up with...not bad at all, if you asked me.
i give kuddos to these ladies who make all kind of projects like this because it does takes patience and time. i guess i won't be freaking out next time i work on anything like this...the more you do something the better you get at it...and that goes for everything out there, right?

psss...did you know the knob is screwed in? i learned that in a video. hehe...i had painted it over while in the box but taking it apart was so much easier, wink!

and this is it for today...
as always i
thank you for stopping by!

it is packed with so many cute elements an the paper is to die for.
i won't even try to mention all is there but i will show it to you in a bit with a link to the store.

anyhow,

I am Tired of Texting
4.25" x 5.5"
i want this card for my son who loves carrying long conversations through texting and i just had it,
hehe! or he can use it in his photo albums and write how much i complain about it.
after a bit of texting i am like: can you call me? lmbo! he knows i am telling the honest truth.

look at the cute pinwheel! adorable! and so is the journaling card and the paper clip..oh my! stickers, stamps, banners, red twine...love it all!

and no...i did not forget to add the black outline to the right side. i simply chose not too, lol.

now allow me to show you the yummy kit:

i also want to share with you the sketch
we have a sketch to follow for the artful delight challenge but you know me.
i have the need to change things and always in a constant evolution, *-*-----but...can you see the similarity on how i followed it, :P

wohoo!
no excuses now to join us!
let's have fun with the cute sketch!!
i know i did!!!

thank you so much for stopping by...i hope i made you stop worth it

remember to share all you can!

A BABY SHOWER INVITATION...using a cut file from the cutting cafe

super cute invitation in a shape of a diaper.
since is for a girl i made it all funky, hehe, to have some fun!

It's a Girl!
5" wide by 3.75" tall
super girly, right? lol

---here is what you get in this file---

DIAPER SHAPED CARD & INVITE SET TEMPLATE - CUTTING FILE

This DIAPER SHAPED CARD and INVITE SET template - cutting file set features 2 different Diapers.
Each set comes in the following formats: PDF, SVG, MTC and WPC.
Both diapers are approx. 5.25 by 3.75 inches.
The set comes with 3 different invites for each diaper.
The set also comes with 3 circle sentiments and 1 baby pin in small and large sizes.

and this is the invitation file (inside) but you can use them outside too.
(you already know i cut these files by hand because i do not own a machine who cuts digital files and this shape was a breeze to work with)

you can see the template shape here after i printed it out.

i added some black satin ribbon to the sides which i hand stitched to ruffle and a bow from the same ribbon. i used glue dots to attach it and, after i printed out the round sentiment (which comes in the file) i chose to shape it into a tiny tag.

and in case you are wondering, the super cute patterned paper is from heidi swapp.

i will be back next sunday with another project for
the cutting cafe blog

thanks so much for stopping by!
