MINI JOURNALING CARDS...using more color hills

hello all,
i am here again with more color hills patterned papers.  i like the colors, the texture, the design...love it all.
with valentine's in mind i made these small pouches where i will write a "love note" along with some sweet chocolate to my loved ones. i thought it would be fun to share with you and give you some kind of a different twist on them.

-i used a die cutter machine (cricut) to make the pouches-

i also did some zig zag stitching using my sewing machine and i also did some stamping (the blotches on the paper) using a halloween dollar stamp i had in my stash.

the heart is from a metal die cut

mini hearts here done with a hand punch.

not too sure about the blotches done in red but liking the embossed heart behind the negative die cut.

here you can see the set of three heart pouches.
and...
-all the sentiments are already written on the color hills patterned papers making it fun to choose to play. you can also cut them a journaling cards for any of your projects.-

hope you like them as much as i do and i invite you to give this company a try.

IMAGINE TODAY using Color Hills

hello fellow crafters,
hope you are having a great 2014 start.
all i want is some sunshine...enough of snow and ice and rain.
so my "imagine today" card with color hills brought some  of it (sunshine) into my crafty world.
this is my first time using color hills and i am liking the colors and thickness of the cardstock. the designs are superb and the badges (round embellishment) add some flair and are all that and more.
Imagine Today
is a 5.5" x 3.75" card

i told you it was like a ray of sunshine...beautiful paper! :D

the white base is from my stash. it was already a size 5.5" x 4.25"...a standard A2 size. i trimmed some of it to a 3.75" and used it as a tent style card.
the  designer patterned papers are from color hills:  the refresh collection and you can find it here.

i punched the bottom edge of the yellow patterned paper and use a die for the half doilie. the sentiment "imagine" was cut out right from the patterned paper, a simple rectangle.
all edges were inked with powder puff chalk inks.

some jute was added (three strings attached with mini staples) and some foam dot was added to the back of the badge (the badges have a pin to attach but i chose to use foam dots because of where i wanted to use them on my card), and a  bit of distressing on two areas...
and here you have it: an Imagine Today card with a bit of sunshine.

hope you enjoy my card for today using the new "refresh" collection from color hills.

SO SWEET...using 7 dots studio

hello and welcome.
yay!...we are back at nani ke ola for a glorious 2014.
this card i made uses the Love is in the Air collection from 7 Dots Studio.
i hope you enjoy it.
So Sweet

i chose to distress and sew on my pretty patterned papers to make this So Sweet Card.
i am loving the watercolor/mixed media  look this collection showcases and that i did not use traditional colors for this valentine's themed card.

the paper i used for the base is called "rising of the sun" and the green one is called "whisper of the tree". i cut two pieces (one was cut at 3x6 and the other one was cut at 2.75x5.75").

i added a strip of paper to the right from the back of the whisper of the tree (the patterned papers are double sided)  and i cut the bottom into an upside down "V" for a banner looking element.
i also added the sentiment from their 12x12 elements sheet.
the heart is from my stash (die cut) and the ink used to chalk the edges is from "powder puff".
i even added (stitched) a piece of paper to the inside to write a love note to my hubby.

i hope you enjoyed my project for today.

STRONG AS AN OAK

hello all,

it has been a while since my last post.
hope you are doing great.
as for me,  i have been working on my garden. it is finally getting there.

anyway, today i am sharing another father's day project:
a mixed media card

Strong as an Oak
3" x 6"

i used pattern papers from cold country (7dots studio) for my base. they are so pretty by themselves it is almost a crime to cover them up, lol.
the banner and alphas are also from 7 dots.

the chevron pattern was done using a glitz designs giant roller doodle called curvy chevron. they were embossed with the awesome embossing powders from lindy's stamp gang. i love the shimmer i get from them.

some jute i had in my supplies and some tim holtz mini staples.
i also splashed some gesso, alcohol ink and mists on the front and wet embossed two of the corners.

below is a collage of 4 extra pics including the inside of the card.
(you can enlarged them all just by clicking on them)
and this is my father's day card for hubby, along with the bookmark.

hope it gives you some inspiration.

have a great weekend.
