NO WINGS...

hello all,

not too long ago i was the lucky winner of a beautiful cling stamp set from the
Paper Wings Production.

i finally had time to play with the stamp, here is my project:

No Wings...
-this is the sentiment i used-
(hence the name of my sign/project)

a bit about this project:
the wood patterned paper is from 7 dots studio. it is from the same
nature walk collection i used for my mini.

i covered some shaped chipboard with this "musical blooms" paper and inked and roughed the edges of it. i also used some walnut ink from tsukineko to make the blotches you see near the bird.

i stamped the bird using some colorbox mix'd media black ink because i wanted a soft look.

for the sentiment i used ranger archival ink because for this i wanted a crisp look.

these birds on a branch are also from the the same stamp set i won: Bird Beauty.
i embossed them with lindseys embossing powders: midnight copper and tannerbaum green gold.

the dripping you see covered with the midnight copper embossing powder was stamped using a recollection stamp set called: splat.
some jute and some black wire makes my project a mini hanging sign.

this is the stamp set i chose.
the sentiments are so encouraging and the images so pretty.

well, and this is it for today.

hope you enjoyed my project.
i wanted to share with you the pretty stamp.

i am adding it to the aviary for this month's challenge. it ends tomorrow the 27th at 11pm cst...i am running late. :D

have a great week and a better 4th of july.

thanks for stopping by flowerdisco's scrap hut.

MOMENTS...a very pretty card

hello,
time went fast and i am  here again with another project for nani ke ola to share with you all.
have to tell you this small car was a handful, hehe, but here we are.
Moments
BY FLOWERDISCO FOR NKO USING CLOUD NINE FROM CHIC TAGS (3)
all pattern papers used are from
can you see the embossing done on the first gray layer (from bottom to top)?
after the embossing i used a prima chalk ink on the raised surface and on the edges.

here you can see i used the same gray paper to die cut a doilie, i then cut it in half and added it to the front of my card. behind the doilie you can see another pretty patterned paper from cloud nine: the one with the clouds. it is called “dreamy”.
the wood veneer serves as a closure for the doilie and for the sentiment.
the pretty flower to the right is a rub on, also from cloud nine. i used foam tape on the back of the flower for dimension. the mini leaves are from a paper punch. i stamped some lines on them for interest.
let me not forget about the photo corners. they match with a strip i added to the inside.

on this pic above, you see how i mounted the card onto some cardstock, also for more interest.  you can also see where i added that strip of the same yellow patterned paper i used for the photo corners.

after all,  “miss handful moments” turned out very pretty. :D
i hope you all have a great week

SPECIAL DAY....a handmade tag

hello and welcome all!
this is flowerdisco.

today is my turn to post on nani ke ola's blog and my project for today is the cutest tag of them all.
(just kidding-just kidding).

Special Day
a handmade tag
the tag's base was cut at 2.25" x 4" out of this "dreamy"cardstock from "chic tags" (very thick cs). the design has different saying on the diagonal yellow lines.
some of the phrases are: celebrate us, happiness defined, i've got sunshine and so on.
also "perfectly handy" to cut out the strips and add them to your projects.
i chose today to use it as my tag's background.
here it shows you both sides and i think both sides are adorable. i even cut out one of the clouds to add to my project.

and what do you think about the sequins?
and you know what??? they are rub ons...don't they look real?
oh my...absolutely crazy about them.
(the sequins also come in wood veneer)
i love rub ons....don't you?

the pink polka dot paper is also from chic tags and it has been named:
"lovely"... and lovely indeed.
and the wood veneers. they have been so very popular for a long while. this one is a banner and it is beautiful. look at it again. it looks like it folds. super pretty. the package comes with 18 pieces: 3 of each one.

the blueish banner i handmade using cardstock from color hills and using one of their stamps with that font i love.

my first time using any inks from prima (ingvild bolme ones). i used the old road (grayish in color) chalk ink: wow...how smooth.  i am so very impressed.

on the pic below you see pretty flowers on a grid paper: they are mini (2x2) squared embellishments. super cute. the package comes with 24 pretty-pretty squares.  i do not own a wink of stella glitter pen but i do have something similar so i went ahead and trace all the lines that made out the flowers. i also added a dot of glitter in the center of the sequins. hard to see, i know but such a nice detail.
and...
see the peek a boo white border at the end? done with a martha stewart paper punch. i also used another ms to edge the pink mixed media paper i made and used here.

did you notice the background papers above? they have small banners with words as a bonus. what a nice addition.

anyway...this is the entire tag and i really hope it inspires you to make some.

as always, all supplies have been linked for your convenience.

thank you so much for stopping by.
have a great week.

4TH OF JULY....banner

hello,
today i am sharing with you all a pretty banner i made using my cricut.

USA
very similar to a one section banner i made when designing for my pink stamper.
you can see it here.

i used the stand and salute cricut cartridge for the hat (page #27 of the handbook), the fireworks (page #50 of the handbook) and the usa (page #63 of the handbook).
each section measures approximately 4" wide x 7" tall, decreasing the layers in size by an 1/8 of an inch.

i love the velvety polka dots cardstock. this is the last of it all. sorry i can't remember the manufacturer.

the cute border here was done with a fiskars paper punch and the golden glitter dots were made with a regular office one hole punch.

the usa has been also layered 3 times: black, red and blue; a bit of diamond stickles  was applied here and there.

these are the fireworks: 2 at each end of the banner.

and here we have a pretty 5 sections banner ready to be used on the 4th of july celebrations.

this banner will be for sale on my etsy shop.

(these banners looks so easy to make but they are so time consuming, right?
but i think they are worth it tough).

(you can click on the pics for a bigger view)

thanks for stopping by.
