ART JOURNAL/SPRING FLOWERS...playing with mixed media

well, well.
i had to jump on week 9 of
Joggles Art Journal.
i will make up for the miss pages, hehe.
this week's inspiration are spring flowers.
you can see barb's (joggles owner) art page here.

Celebrate, Celebrate, Celebrate!
It's a Spring thing!
is what i called my page because of the stamps i used.
here is a sneak peak but i have 5 more pics below.

i wasn't feeling the way i started this page. i went over it with gesso and started all over again.
all the imperfections from the page that didn't make it just added beauty to this one, in my opinion.

after i applied the gesso, i went over with the crayola watercolors. i used yellow for the top, blue for the center and green for the bottom. i then mixed them all and what you see is the gorgeous result.

i added some circles in different pigment ink colors using a piece of a stencil made out of one of my paper punches. i outlined them with a black pen and added some clear wet embossing to some of them.
I also stamped the word celebrate three times and the phrase It's a spring thing! and boxed them in.

the banners were also stamped with pigment ink and outlined in black. i added those x's to the flowers to simulate the stems.

the flowers were also stamped, on some patterned paper, cut by hand, color with some gelatos and glued to the page. i also added some shadows around the page with some charcoal color pigment.

i also stamped that cute butterfly on the left because it was a bit empty on that side.
and this is it.
i hope you like it and join us.
they are so much fun.
i love making them and playing with all these mediums i have accumulated over my years of crafting.

there is no right or wrong, just go with the flow, that is the way i do it.
if it makes you happy, hey...who is anyone to dispute it, right?

Thanks so much for stopping by.
