G N ME

I have heard of many problems with the Gypsy and for a change I am glad I am  a procrastinator. I am taking things very slow right now.
Today,  I have been watching Gypsy videos and reading Gypsy posts on the Cricut Message Board, learning what I can before I start pulling my hair, lol. Anyways, wish me luck and patience while trying to learn the in's and out's of this new gadget.

I WON'T EVEN EXPLAIN THIS ONE ;=o

GYPSY

WHAT IS THAT GYPSY DOING HERE?
Me: "I do not know", LOL

Well, I finally caved in and went to the store yesterday and got one.
It will be my birthday present to myself.
I haven't played with it yet but I did the registration and the uploading.I made copies of the rebate for my two free solutions cartridges (part of the special promotion) and uploaded it to my computer.
Provo Craft already sent my 700 points (again, part of the special promo) and when I get the two Solution Cartridges I will redeemed the last 100 points for a total of 800 points. The cartridges I ordered are the Baseball and Soccer ones. I would have order the Wedding Cart but it was not part of the promotion.

THANKSGIVING SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT

The pilgrims, Family Time, Thanksgiving, Hats are cut with A Child's Year cricut cartridge.
The "E" from Family Time is a bit messed up since I was using the Cricut Design Studio and it does not allow me to control the speed. Otherwise, I think it is a nice layout especially because I have not scrapbooked for a while, lol. The rest of the embellishments are commercial. I am very sorry about the glare on the scarecrow.

SPOOKY FINGERS (MAKES AROUND 50)

Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup whole almonds
1 (.75 ounce) tube red decorating gel
Directions:
1.
Combine the butter, sugar, egg, almond extract, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. Beat together with an electric mixer; gradually add the flour, baking powder, and salt, continually beating; refrigerate 20 to 30 minutes.
2.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease baking sheets.
3.
Remove dough from refrigerator in small amounts. Scoop 1 heaping teaspoon at a time onto a piece of waxed paper. Use the waxed paper to roll the dough into a thin finger-shaped cookie. Press one almond into one end of each cookie to give the appearance of a long fingernail. Squeeze cookie near the tip and again near the center of each to give the impression of knuckles. You can also cut into the dough with a sharp knife at the same points to help give a more finger-like appearance. Arrange the shaped cookies on the baking sheets.
4.
Bake in the preheated oven until the cookies are slightly golden in color, 20 to 25 minutes.
5.
Remove the almond from the end of each cookie; squeeze a small amount of red decorating gel into the cavity; replace the almond to cause the gel to ooze out around the tip of the cookie.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT MY RECIPE, MY GF GAVE IT TO ME.

FROM THE CRICUT REWARDS PROGRAM

I love the Christmas Solutions Cartridge. I have waited what it seems like forever, lol, and finally, had enough reward points and all I had to pay for was shipping. Now, the Don Juan is not doing much for me so I want to trade it or sell it. Any takers?

FALL IS IN THE AIR CARD

You will need the following,

For the card:

-cardstock cut at 4-1/4" x 11" and score at 5-1/2" This will be your card base.
NOTE FOR NEW CARD MAKERS: I normally take an 8-1/2" X 11" and cut in half: 8-1/2 divided into two, equals 4-1/4".
-cardstock cut at 4" x 5-1/4"
-cardstock cut at 3-3/4" x 5" (two times, one for the inside of card)

For the sentiment:

-strip of cardstock cut at 2" x 2-3/4"
-strip of cardstock cut at 1-3/4" x 2-1/2"
-strip of cardstock cut at 1-1/2" x 2-1/4"

Your choice of: glue, stamp, ink, dimensional adhesive and embellishment.

I inked my cardstock edges for more definition and stamp my flower twice on watercolor paper, added a bit of shimmer and an embellishment for the center.

Thanks for looking!

ANOTHER CHRISTMAS CARD

This one was inspired by a card I saw in a magazine.

The card base is 4-1/2" x 12", score at 3-1/4" and 7".

Cut two white small rectangles (2" x 3-3/4"), cut one more at 2-1/2" x 4-1/4".

Cut two lime green rectangles (2-1/4" x 4") and a thin strip 4-1/2" long (optional).

I embossed my card and attached all rectangles as seen on the photo, add sentiment and embellishment.

The Holly Leaves are cut from Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge.

A DO NOT OPEN 'TIL BIRTHDAY

This was supposed to be a "Do Not Open 'Til Christmas".
I have worked hard to make it a "Do Not Open 'Til Birthday (end of Nov.)
I do not think I can push it any closer than that.

CAMP OUT WORD BOOK

Hello, finally after many days since I started my blog I have something to share. I am not quite done with it but you have an idea of what I have been working on. I have to thank BugJunkie from the Cricut MB who has posted videos on her blog explaining how to make the word books, they are not hard at all to make even they intimidated me in the beginning. As I keep finishing the pages I will post them.
Thanks for stopping by!
