A SAILBOAT FOR MY DAD

i made another card for father's day because we are even closer to their special day and any other project would have been looked out of place, don't you think so too?

this one is from designer nic squirrell and it fits with all the rave for a nautical theme and of course for father's day.
if you miss the pegboard card from last week, you can still check it out here.

-this is my take on the sailboat-

Happy Father's Day
5" x 7"
i did some dry embossing with my cuttlebug and an old fiskars embossing plate i have in my stash.
i embossed the yatch (sailboat) and the blue background cardstock.

the clouds are from some die cuts i normally have at hand and i believe they are from a cricut cartridge, so is the sun which i popped a bit.

i have been adding some wink of stella shimmer to some projects but is hard to see. in this case i added it to the sun, clouds and the happy father's day words.

a bit of a rustic twine for a bit of masculine touch.

i love when i open the card, the left side looks awesome: just like a silhouette.
(sorry about my geraniums but we are having rainy and cloudy days and i get better lightning sometimes in this front window facing west)

this super pretty Thank You word are from designer jamie cripps and i think it looks  adorable. the font is so pretty.
the lines behind it are just some scraps from the front of the card. i think they look nice and they carry some of the design to the inside.

supplies used:
yatch card: digiplayground item# 19078
thank you word: digiplayground item# 19204

cardstock: recollections
embossing folders:  fiskars
embossing machine: cuttlebug

bling: wink of stella (clear)

die cutter: cricut explore
software: cricut design space

adhesive: martha stewart

hope you get you mojo going and you like this card as much as i did.

and once more, thank you so much for stopping by and if you like what you see, please share to any of your fav social media sites.

DAD'S PEGBOARD...

hello all,
father's day is around the corner and i want to share with you
this new pegboard card from the digi playground.
.
The World's Best Dad
4.25" x 5.5"
don't you think it is the perfect father's day card for the handyman dad?

i am making a few for some handy guys in the family.
they are going to love this pegboard...it does not make holes in the wall, lol.
i used some bazzill, core-dinations and recollections cardstock, wink of stella on some of the tools to give it a bit of shimmer and some foam tape for dimension.

you all know i use the cricut design space along with the cricut explore but this svg file is also compatible with the silhouette, make the cut (MTC), sure cuts a lot (SCAL) and the sizzix eclipse.
this font is really pretty too.
NOTE: (the measurement tape piece is NOT included, i had it in my stash)

this is the inside.
the font is from the cricut don juan cartridge.

if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to leave them in the comments area.

once again, thanks for stopping by and i hope you have a great week.

STRONG AS AN OAK

hello all,

it has been a while since my last post.
hope you are doing great.
as for me,  i have been working on my garden. it is finally getting there.

anyway, today i am sharing another father's day project:
a mixed media card

Strong as an Oak
3" x 6"

i used pattern papers from cold country (7dots studio) for my base. they are so pretty by themselves it is almost a crime to cover them up, lol.
the banner and alphas are also from 7 dots.

the chevron pattern was done using a glitz designs giant roller doodle called curvy chevron. they were embossed with the awesome embossing powders from lindy's stamp gang. i love the shimmer i get from them.

some jute i had in my supplies and some tim holtz mini staples.
i also splashed some gesso, alcohol ink and mists on the front and wet embossed two of the corners.

below is a collage of 4 extra pics including the inside of the card.
(you can enlarged them all just by clicking on them)
and this is my father's day card for hubby, along with the bookmark.

hope it gives you some inspiration.

most products have been linked for your convenience.

have a great weekend.

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON ART FRAME

This frame was so much fun.
I used my Robotz cartridge for the first time and I loved it......I used the robot from page 51..... layers2 from page 57.....font from Robotz and Jubilee. I also used Indie Art image #40. Where is the nose from??? You gotta guess that one, lol. The background paper source is unknown and the rest is textured cardstock from American Crafts, I also used stickles for some bling. We have to have bling, right?
The swirls you see in the abdominal area of the robots are from My Pink Stamper clear stamps set Simply Sweet Occasions. Aren't they cute?
About the sizes...You can make them any size you want...this is the beauty of it. My robots were cut at 5 and 3-1/4 inches high and the frame is a 10 x 7. The chain to hang is from the jewelry department of one of the crafts stores around.
It was my pleasure working on this project.

On this photo I added the swirls on the belly because I thought they would look nice on that spot.

I hope you enjoy it.
Hugs from flowerdisco!!!

This frame was showcased yesterday at
Robyn's site
as part of our monthly designer's team project.
