MAGAZINE AD INSPIRED----THE CUTTLEBUG SPOT CHALLENGE

nilda, from the cuttlebug spot has asked us to make a project inspired by a magazine ad and this will be the challenge for you this week. as always you have to go to to her blog to submit your entry for a chance to win some blog candy.

how do you like my inspiration???
lol--- after debating for a while among a few ads this gecko won the spot ;p

this is my project for the challenge

introducing
*-*
Mr. Gecko
3.50 inch tall
in memory of mr. squishy who is now RIP.
 the most beautiful lizard ever
--wink-wink--
he was dry embossed with the mosaics cuttlebug folder.  you can find him in the boys will be boys cricut cartridge--image#24. i cut him at 3 inches tall. the card base is also from the same cart--same image using shift and the shadow feature.

a closer view and remember that you can click on the pic for a bigger view.
you can see i had to inked him and add the googly eyes...he looks so handsome, ;p

the sentiment is from my pink stamper clear stamp set called

MORE PUNNYLICIOUS

you can click on my pink stamper here to go to robyn's site, if you wish

i made the envelope using one of the seed packets from freshly picked
--another cricut cart--
in my collection :)
--this note is for my dear friend sheena too--
i made that envelope using construction paper.

i forgot to take a pic of the inside, but what i did was more faux stitch,  just the same you see on the outside.

well.. do not forget to stop at the cuttlebug spot if you wish to participate in this week challenge...find a cute magazine ad and play along.

thanks for stopping by and for leaving some love..
don't be shy and let me know how you feel.

ohhh!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am also a recipient of blog award given to me by no other than McVic.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY-----MPS FIRST DESIGN TEAM PROJECT

hello my friends...i went today for my blood work to rule out some conditions. i will keep you up to date but i am feeling much better as of today. i know that won't last long so i live everyday to the fullest ;p.

today is tuesday, january 25 and normally on tuesdays i post the challenge for the cuttlebug spot but today i am making an exception to post my first project as one of my pink stamper 2011 designers. robyn  asked that our first project should be inspired by LOVE and we should use PINK somewhere. easy!

Happy Valentine's Day
6.5 x 4
the beautiful heart paper is from one of the new dcwv stacks.

the hearts were cut from a foil cardstock and one of them embossed, as you can see, with the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder. i fell in love with this foil cardstock from a few xmas cards i received.

hehe, you can see the reflection of my camera lense here, oops!

look how pretty the wet embossing turned out, love it.
the sentiment is from one of my pink stamper latest clear stamp sets. you already saw it because i have been using it a lot lately ;p--- it is this one below..called
HAPPIEST MOMENTS
(you can click on the name and it will take you to robyn's site where you can see a variety of her products..i personally love her stamps).

for the inside of the card, i decided to use another brown border using the same brown american crafts textured cardstock i used on the outside.
hope you like it as much as i do. i am giving it to my hubby for valentine's day :)

please, if you have time, stop at robyn's site. you will be able to take a look at the rest of the fantastic projects the other designers have made for today.
also, robyn--my pink stamper--has a challenge going on right now celebrating her birthday. go ahead, click anywhere you see her name here and it will take you to her site...don't be shy, participate and you might win one of two cricut carts she is having as giveaways.

this is it for now...
love you all--!!
*-*

tomorrow i will have the project i made for the cuttlebug spot and another opportunity for another of nilda's giveaway if you participate on that challenge too--wink-wink.

HAPPY BIRD-DAY TO ROBYN---MY PINK STAMPER--

today is Robyn's birthday and we, her designers, made some birthday cards for her and we are showing them on our blogs. i forgot to send mine out with everything going on, but she will "belated" get it, lol.
Happy Bird-day
6.50 x 7.25
the other day robyn made a tall card -click on "tall card" to see it--and it was my inspiration for this one.
this card base is from wild card--image #12 and using the hide contour to hide the oval window in the original.
i tried to use robyn's favorite colors (pink, green and brown) but missed on the brown ;p..i used a yellow ribbon instead to match the bird's beak and legs.

the ribbon slide, image #44 using the decor tag feature, is from from gypsy wanderings---which i tend to forget about it and i just realized it has many basics shapes like george does too--.
the scalloped heart, image#18 is from the same gypsy wanderings, and the other two hearts from gypsy font.

the sentiment is from robyn's stamps, of course--- i wouldn't dare use any other for her birthday :) plus i really like her stamps a lot. you can find it on the tweetie hoo puns set (you can click on the pic or the name if you wish to see more of her stamps/products)

 TWEETIE HOO PUNS

the cute bird---my favorite-- is from create a critter--image #42.

i used some bling robyn had send me with some stamps.

this is the inside---the sentiment is a group of  three "tweetie hoo puns" stamps

if you have time please stop by Robyn aka My Pink Stamper and wish her a happy birthday-- she is an awesome friend and human being and i wish her the best not just on her birthday but everyday.

happy bird-day to you my dear robyn!!!

and thank you my friends for all the support and love you give me...
love you all

FOR YOUR BABY

it has been so cold in the neighborhood. i do not like to go out when is this cold but had to go to a meeting on saturday morning for a musical my son is in where he got the lead. i then went food shopping since they are expecting another snow storm this week, better have some food in the house, ;p
i decided to stop at joann's and saw they now have the pink atg. i had a 50 % off coupon and bought a refill for it. if anybody knows where i can buy them by the case at a good price, please, would you shoot me an email or let me know in a comment. thanks!

this card is totally out of my color comfort zone but since i try my best to be versatile i played with pastels colors since is for a baby.

For Your Baby
5 inch square card
the plane is the shadow of image#1 on the b is for boys cricut cartridge, the star is from a child's year image #46-- icon feature and i added a rub-on.

see the martha stewart ribbon???not too pleased with it but it was the one i had that matched better. i also inked around my images but not on the white border across.  i left that out of the inking process, ;p. that border is from straight from the nest, image# 32 using the layer/shadow feature.

the "for your baby" stamp is from one of my dear robyn's latest clear stamp sets called
Happiest Moments
i have been using this set a lot lately and i will be using it for the graduation parties too.

i finished my card with another cut of the plane on the inside.
any questions, please...just ask. i read all my comments...they feed my soul ;p

hugs and love to all--!!

WELL WISHES

hello

me me, the winner of the blog hop contacted me and soon i will be making a little surprise goodie box for her. i am very happy she did get my email and claimed her prize.
congrats to me me--!!

i made these two cute tags using another set of clear stamps from my pink stamper.
Well Wishes
the tags are from a child's year image #11 using shift and the tag feature.
the flowers are from accent essentials image #46 using the shift key. the leaves are also from the same cart: shift and images # 41 and 42.
i misted the flowers with water, i crunched them, dried them with the heat gun, inked them and glued the layers on top of each other. they were different sizes, varying a few eights of an inch. the leaves were also misted, crunched and inked. really easy to make. the sentiment i used is from the set below in case you want to check it out.
HAPPIEST MOMENTS

thanks for stopping by
and a big hug to all.

HAPPY EVERYTHING

and an mps blog hop and health update.
---
i went yesterday to the reuma doctor for the first time and she was very nice. she will be examining some tests i have had done, but all it seems to point out to a bad flare up of my condition. i am back on one of my old medicine. i thought that medicine was not really working, but she says none of them will take completely my pain away--mo magic wand here either. :(  it is not the first time i hear that.
this is a condition i have to live with for the rest of my life and it will flare up for the rest on my life too. i have to go for a blood test for lupus. i never had that test done tough, let's see.  i have had every other therapy, massages, injections, rx that has shred my stomach and more... and nothing really works. oh well...put my
"big girl smile on again", and keep forward. that is all i can do :)
i feel much better and last night i was able to sleep the whole night. i still have my son's cold and now my lower back pain has moved to my middle back, but i should be back to "normal" soon.
---
my mps blog hop winner will be announced sometime tomorrow th, jan. 20.

---
now onto a card i made the other day with a new set of clears stamp from my pink stamper, robyn.

Happy Everything
5 x 4
I needed to think happy these days and this sent
image got my mind in gear.:P
made with kraft cardstock and K&Co embellishments.
i really liked how clean the sentiment came out. i used a colorbox ink for it, very nice.
if you would like to see more of this Happiest Moments set,
where she has lots more to choose from too:)

i think it came out very pretty.

----

I also wanted to show you a pic of the ice storm we just had. if look a bit closer you can see the ice shining on top of the snow that we already had.
  this is it for now,
i will be back tomorrow with a winner for the blog hop.
hugs to all and thanks again for being there to hear me vent ;p

BINGO

i want to take a moment here and thank you all for the prayers and best wishes. it touches my heart and i appreciate you taking the time to say it. i go to the doctors today and see what kind of magic wand she has ;p...i will update as soon as possible, in the meantime i am still dealing with the situation.
-------

we had to get inspired by a children's game this week at
and i remember playing Bingo with my family since i was a very young girl. we also played lots of dominoes. these games bring back lots of nice childhood memories.

and...since you all know i am in love with the inch bag from tags, bags, boxes and more--cricut cartridge--i decided to use it again.
this be inch bag is a very versatile cut and you can weld to it or re-size it any way you want.
below is my project for the challenge.
Bingo
5 inch bag
(this was the second one i made since i wasn't pleased with the other one--;p)
the "adore" bingo cards are from jenni bowlin--i had one of these for a while-while now, and since i wanted to use more than one for this project, i scanned it and printed a bunch of them :P--the markers are the little hearts, cute huh?--you also can see the dry embossing. i used a sizzix folder which i always put through my cuttlebug with no problems.
i have used two different kind of twine and a crinkle ribbon from kristen and a bit of ink here and there.

added a heart charm, some bling and done...simple right? well not that simple since i am so very picky, lol.

this is it for today.

hope you like it and i will be back as soon as possible.

love you all--!!
and welcome to my new followers, yay--!!
a big hug to all of you--!!

THE LIME LIGHT JANUARY PROJECT

hello my friends

as you know i have been sick with "whatever" and i feel better on that "whatever" but not 100% better yet :(.
now i have terrible lower back pain that shoots down to both legs and i think i am getting my son's cold too. i can't win but, whatever right? put my big girl "smile" on and move forward, lol.
this tuesday i am going to see a rheumatologist for my chronic pain and see if she can help me a bit with some new medicines. i will keep you updated. i have bee suffering with this for over 15 years and i tell you it is not getting any better :( every day seems to get worse.

anyhow, since i belong to that awesome charity blog "The Lime Light", where we make crafts to help fund others with their needs, i want to show you what i have been working on.
some of these cards are non-cricut but we have to think "out of the cricut box" sometimes, right?;p  and since i have all these store bought embellishments that i am in love with, -big grin here-- and can't just leave them on their store shelves...i decided to use some of them for a good purpose and make some cards.
i made 12 cards for january and i will be making 12 bookmarks for february. i might make something else but i can commit for too many right now because i need to get "my situation" under control here.

here are my cards

you might recognize some of the cards background ;p
they are from a store bought set too. i do not know if the photos give them justice but i know they are really pretty in real life. all i did was add some touches with glitter, white gel pen, stamps from MPS, punches, and the mixed die cuts...see how pretty?

--------------
i am also taking this post to mention "i am so honored" gisella from http://crossmyheartpapercrafts.blogspot.com/
asked me to participate in her blog hop to celebrate her blog-anniversary and of course i said yes. gisella is a very talented young woman and i sincerely  love her work. she also has many tutorials in her blog that i enjoy watching. soooo...this hop is from GISELLA and for gisella's  http://crossmyheartpapercrafts.blogspot.com/
 blog anniversary.

gisella has a great line-up for us and you and some prizes along the way. mark your calendars and join us in the celebration--!!

you guys take care and i will be back tomorrow tuesday with a cuttlebug spot challenge.

many surprises will be revealed by robyn in this year and hopefully many, many, many more in years to come.

well, enough of my blah-blah and onto my project for the hop ;p
Wild Cool Cat
4.50"
the card base shape comes from just because cards (cricut cartridge), image #15.
i welded them using my gypsy and also copied the same image and made it into a smaller one for the greeting:
 "cool cat"
which is another set of clear stamps from robyn called "more punnylicious" and again (shame on me), i split them in half---oops! i did it again, lol--to have it the way you see it on my card ;p......... i then embossed it with clear embossing powder and a "tip" here---to get a good embossing you must use a pigment ink pad (or embossing glue pad).
below you see the stamp set used on this card and...

if you click on the photo, it will take you to robyn's site/product section if you wish to purchase, and you also can see where the "cool cat" is, lol and how i used it instead, lol.

you can find the beautiful and awesome patterned paper i used, in my stash--hehe. i do not remember where i got it but i know i paid very little for a whole bunch of different ones. it is textured and thin but i did cut it with my expression at 3 speed and 3 blade, lol--absolutely adorable.
the wild word comes from the cutting up--cricut cartridge.

now, look how cute the inside is
the little cat is from... i do not remember either ,lol---i had it in my stash from etsy :(...... i embellished it a bit---cut some tiny triangles for the ears, a mini strip of cardstock for the collar, a punched out a mini flower from the same patterned paper and of course----bling.
this cat might be a wild cat but is a cool cat indeed--hehe.

hope you like my card--i had a good time making it despite being sick at the time..it really lifted me up :)

here is what you are looking for--------the blog hop sequence in case you get lost but remember you MUST start at Robyn's site----it is important you do that.

SWEET THOUGHTS OF YOU

i am not feeling well. i haven't been feeling good since last thursday. i have a bad case of gerd and indigestion and bloating, and every time i eat it i feel nauseated. if i do not feel good by monday i think i will be calling my doctor.

last night started snowing and snowed all night. i love looking outside at night time when snows. it looks like the sky illuminated itself with a yellow warming and peaceful glow. here are some pictures from today. i wish i could have captured the glow from last night.

january 12, 2011

love how it looks after a good snow--it is like winter wonderland until the plow truck comes by, lol.
did you notice the stunning sky...awww!!!

-----------

i worked on this card today,

--Sweet Thoughts of You--
4.25 x 4
pretty, uh?
the sentiment is from one of the first mps clear stamp sets called
"simply sweet occasions".
it seems i keep going back to that one--so versatile :)

this is the package and if you click on the pic it will take you to the mps site so you can see the variety of stamps she has out and more coming out soon too, yay!!!

these are old papers i have in my stash from autumn leaves, the tag i made myself with the cricut and so is the clock too and of course...robyn's "sweet occasion stamp set" hmmm---i think i mentioned the stamps before--hehe.

a bit of distressing and some more stamping--oh, and i sew on it too, hehe.
so very cool--!!
the ribbon was given to me by kristen --one of the designers at the cricut circle.  she makes them herself too.

here you can see how i used two ink colors to create a shadow on the sentiment. i first used brown ink and then stamped it again--a tiny bit off--with black ink, and this is the result.

hope you like it--!!

-----------

we will be having our first mps blog hop this friday at 8PM central time 9PM eastern time. it is going to be lots of fun and i know you would like to participate. mark your calendars for this friday, january 14--.

see you later,
love u all.

--this post was supposed to go up last night and it failed again---another boo for google--grr!--
