MEMORIES...a vintage keepsake

hello my fellow crafters,

i want you to excuse my absence. i never took so long away from this blog before. it has been busy around here and i am just trying to enjoy this summer and the gardening. we have been taking day trips here and there since my husband's vacations were schedule for every other week. going crazy with him home all the time but it has been lots of fun too.
i hope all you are enjoying yours and have been taking lots of pics.

while talking to my mother over the phone i gave her some homework. she was supposed to gather info for my family tree and send me some old photos to make an album.
since time has been an issue lately, this keepsake is the only thing i have had time to work on. i want to mail it to her as a way to say thank you for gathering the photos and info for me.

Memories
4 inch square keepsake
this is my mother's mother and my super loved and super missed grandmother. Maria was her name and she raised me until i was ready to go to high school and live with my mother.
i simply adored her and she adored me.
i still can smell her around me sometimes despite she passed away almost 16 years ago.
this is not a real photo but a copy i made.

the papers used are from my mind's eye and die cuts with a view.

here is the whole keepsake:
a 4x4 inches square pouch and a 3.5"  insert.
a handmade paper flower, a heart covered with glitter and some butterflies. the doilies border is a martha stewart.
the base for the pouch is from everyday pop up cards  using the card feature #20 of the overlay and real size dial on my gypsy to make it with the measurements i wanted.
(if you remove the link chain icon,  it will give you "real size dial")

on the photo below, on the right hand side where the black thin borders meet,  i added an "M" for her name. i cut three small circles from a mini punch, glue them together, stamp an "m" and added liquid embossing from plaid.
i think adding that monogram makes my insert looks complete.

a couple more pics:

thanks for stopping by, it means a lot to me.
i am really sorry for the lack of action here but our family must always come first.
 i know you understand.

i will be blogging back to normal after the end of august, God's will.

take care!
