AUTUMN SUNFLOWER

Hello all, Agnes' here to share with you how I made this beautiful Autumn DIY Sunflower.

You can find the sunflower petals in the Flower Shoppe Cricut cart and on the Cricut Access Library: M43F8C and M472BF .

I used two different sizes: 3" and 1-3/4". I cut 3 of each size.

The leaves (M3AE6B) are from the Don Juan cart and I sized them at 1/2".

To the above left, you can see the two different sizes, the leaves, and the finished sunflower.

The yellow cardstock is Carmelized Mustard, the green cardstock (green leaf) is Lemongrass and the brownish-green is Rubbed Sage. You can find them at Cut Cardstock.

I love these colors. They are perfect for the brisk weather of Autumn because they make you feel all warm and cozy on the inside. :)

I used brown ink to add dimension to the die cut edges and I used a balled stylus to shape the petals and leaves. The center of the sunflower was made punching out a few circles glued on top of each other to make them pop off the center and the texture was made with Fluffy Paint I have in my stash of supplies.

I then layered three 3" petals and three 1-3/4" making sure I offset the petals for a more fuller flower. I used liquid glue to be able to reposition if I needed to.

I  decided to make a Home Decor frame to showcase the sunflower. I looked through my stash again and found this thick bare chipboard frame I had bought a few years back at a local craft store. 

I cut two pieces of this brown color cardstock called Moroccan Cocoa and embossed one piece with an embossing folder, then attached the embossed one to the front and the other I used for the backing. I used score tape for this step.

I cut some thin strips of Gold Glitter cardstock ( I am in love with this cs too, lol) and outlined the frame with them.

To finish it off I die cut the word 'friend" with a thin die and added it next to the sunflower using trusty Mr. Tombow liquid glue again.

This is one view of the finished and framed sunflower.

I am planning to give it to my SIL along with a Sweet Potato side dish I am making for our Thanksgiving dinner get together.

There are many uses for these gorgeous sunflowers, especially for DIY gifts of this lovely season.

FLORAL DOILIES WRAP CARD

hello bloggers,

here i am sharing another project using one of miss samantha walker's svg's cutting files. this time i chose this beautiful intricate floral design wrap card.

of course you can use it anyway you want: think invitations, weddings, mother's day, home decor, photo keepsake and so on and on and on.

Floral Card Wrap
-i am using mine as a mother's day card-
6 inches square

i used some k&co double sided paper for this awesome card.

what a beautiful design, huh? it looks great and so feminine and gentle.

i uploaded it to my cricut design space to cut. it took a while because the explore goes a bit slow on intricate cuts but the wait was so worth it.
this floral card wrap is available in different formats to use with different die cutters software.

the pretty flower is a spiral flower from the flower shoppe cricut cart. it was cut at 5 inches and when made is about  1-3/4" in diameter. just something to think about it when sizing them.

next time i am grabbing a few other of these intricate cards i seem to be loving these days.

CHINESE LANTERN NUMBER ONE

i had fun making this cute and fun
dimensional chinese lantern.

i want to make two more and i will post them as soon as i am done with them.

this is my first one.
i do not know what it says, i hope is not a bad word, lol
if you know the meaning, can you please tell me?

i found the lanterns in the cricut design space. the lanterns are digital images: no physical cartridge that i know of. i am sure you can also find them in the cricut craft room.

the completed project size is:

 5"tall and about 3-3/4"wide

the flowers i had made a while back an are from the flower shoppe cricut cartridge an the leaves are from a tim holtz decorative die: autumn gatherings

the lanterns and or the flowers are not hard to put together but it you take your time before gluing, the better.
hehe, experience speaking here.
the dry embossing was done with a darice folder: basket weave. i think is so pretty.

i made them a little too long, i know...so take that in account, :)

that grey/gray part goes inside the top opening. for a while i was trying to wrap it around it, lol. i even cut another piece thinking i had messed up the size, duh! then i realized what i was doing wrong.
ETA: 3/20/15--- the grey/gray part it is supposed to go on the outside and not in. i was looking at some other lanterns yesterday and realized this :( sorry.
-if i hang them outdoors, i will use twine/jute/ribbon instead. this i used here was a strip of cardstock-

cricut has many different lantern styles an they are all pretty.
hope you try them.

yay! we are so happy for him. he has been a great kid all his life.
not one headache or worry from him, ever.
he deserves this and more and i praise god for keeping him out of harm ways.

graduating with a major on computer sciences and a minor on graphic designs
from boston university it has not been easy but it has paid off.

mmm, i wonder if boston will still have snow on the ground when we get there in may. there is so much to melt, it has been a disaster for them this winter. so sad.
and the freezing cold, brrr!

this is one of the newest and cutest (if possible) sets from the cutting cafe.

I have seen them around a lot lately, so many uses and so much fun.

i used the pdf file and again i cut it by hand. it was really easy to do since the cuts are so simple.

i love that regina made the black reel too and if you want you can add a brad in the center and have it rotate...how much fun is that? a lot! :)

here i used one of the phrases and i manipulated within the document to use the part i needed and made a small banner tag with it.

what a beauty!

i love the colors i chose. the patterned paper is from an older basic gray and the pink is from an older single sheet from ki i had collected. it was a double sided one and i chose it because the other side was green for my leaves.  the flower is from the flower shoppe cricut cartridge and my first time using it.
