ANYTHING GOES DIGI STAMP CHALLENGE

hello,
today starts another
Cre8tive Hands Friends
Digi Stamp
"Anything Goes Challenge"

I am using this chick Michelle had sent. I just fell in love with her/him.
It was love at first sight. awe!

Crea8tive Hands Friend challenge lasts 2 weeks.
"Anything Goes" will start on March 24th.

first, let me apologize for the pics, but when is cloudy I have a hard time photographing with my old but still very reliable camera. :)

I used my cricut explore to draw and cut my digi stamp and some
alcohol markers for the coloring but thinking it twice I should have used watercolors because she is painting and not coloring, but oh well, old brain here my friends. :) these senior moments are killing me, lol.

The background was embossed and colored with pigment inks, the clouds were double stamped with a tiny grid stamp: first in green and then in yellow.
I like better how the left cloud turned out.
And...the frame, oh! the frame...hehe.
I have been buying some thin dies when I find them on sale and this one is a Spellbinders. I hope is not too fancy for my chick but I liked it so much and wanted to use it.

here is a close up.
I sat her on some fuzzy fibers that resemble a nest to me.

well, and this is my post for today.
I hope you join us for some fun.

Thank you so much for visiting!

PLAYING ALONG WITH CHALLENGES...

hello all,

this is just a quick post to share my entry for joy clair's monthly challenge.
i am the randomly chosen winner of last month's challenge and today using the stamp set i chose: happy easter!
it has such cute images.
I want to thank joy clair for their generosity.

An Easter Trio
so cute.

i made these three sacks with a digi playground svg, used my cricut explore for all the cutting including the digital dies from the stamp set.
coloring was done with some alcohol markers i purchased at acm. i believe they are from their nicole brand premiere. i actually like them very much. they seem to have their own unique blending properties. you can see it on the yellow chick. the colors used there were turmeric and pumpkin and i actually like how they blended. what do you think? they are very juicy too.

back to joy clair's challenge entry.
i partially colored this rabbit pink and the other rabbit partially green.
i wanted to make the chick my main one.
the gray areas were colored w the spectrum noirs.

the paper used is from a heidi swapp's collection: the sugar chic.

below you see the stamp set used and also the digi playground svg.
they both have been linked if interested.

Happy Easter Clear Stamps - Joy Clair - 1     valentine envelope bag

you should check this month's challenge. they randomly select an entry to win a
$25 gift certificate to their store.
sweet, huh? that is how i won, :)

thank you very much for stopping by.
hope you have a great day!

FAIRIES DIGI STAMPS CHALLENGE

hello all,
welcome to our
today we are showcasing fairies.

Believe
(in magic)
is a card/tag mini set
she is absolutely gorgeous, isn't she?
-i used my cricut explore to draw and cut her-
she measures here approximately 2-1/2" tall but you can make it larger or smaller.

I used some alcohol markers for coloring and added some white polka dots with a gel pen and some gold glitter to the star on her magic wand.

the tiny flowers and leaves were cut with a thin die. the tag, card and envelope are from cricut cartridges.

i also applied a thin coat of wink of stella but for some reason it looks a bit muddy on the pic, :(

anyway, i am enjoying these challenges at cre8tive hands friends and michelle (the owner) is a darling. She has many plans for the immediate future. you might want to check her out and also join us in this challenge.
you do not need one of her digis but she does offer some freebies if you are interested. she wants to make it easier for you to participate.
let's support her.

my final pic.

and a huge thank you for stopping by.

have a great weekend!

ART JOURNAL/SPRING FLOWERS...playing with mixed media

well, well.
i had to jump on week 9 of
Joggles Art Journal.
i will make up for the miss pages, hehe.
this week's inspiration are spring flowers.
you can see barb's (joggles owner) art page here.

Celebrate, Celebrate, Celebrate!
It's a Spring thing!
is what i called my page because of the stamps i used.
here is a sneak peak but i have 5 more pics below.

i wasn't feeling the way i started this page. i went over it with gesso and started all over again.
all the imperfections from the page that didn't make it just added beauty to this one, in my opinion.

after i applied the gesso, i went over with the crayola watercolors. i used yellow for the top, blue for the center and green for the bottom. i then mixed them all and what you see is the gorgeous result.

i added some circles in different pigment ink colors using a piece of a stencil made out of one of my paper punches. i outlined them with a black pen and added some clear wet embossing to some of them.
I also stamped the word celebrate three times and the phrase It's a spring thing! and boxed them in.

the banners were also stamped with pigment ink and outlined in black. i added those x's to the flowers to simulate the stems.

the flowers were also stamped, on some patterned paper, cut by hand, color with some gelatos and glued to the page. i also added some shadows around the page with some charcoal color pigment.

i also stamped that cute butterfly on the left because it was a bit empty on that side.
and this is it.
i hope you like it and join us.
they are so much fun.
i love making them and playing with all these mediums i have accumulated over my years of crafting.

there is no right or wrong, just go with the flow, that is the way i do it.
if it makes you happy, hey...who is anyone to dispute it, right?

Thanks so much for stopping by.

CUTE BUGS DIGI STAMPS CHALLENGE

adriana from
invited me to be a guest designer for a friend of hers who is designing some digital stamps for her etsy store and on her blog
Michelle, the owner, is starting challenges with digi stamps.
since i am all pro small business, i said yes, of course.

here is my take on her first challenge

Cute Bugs
-mini banner
these pretty papers are from sizzix, from looong time ago. hehe
you know i do not use many pastel colors but these i love.

-the size of each pennant is around 2-3/4 wide x 3-1/2" tall.-

-here you can see some of the dimension on the top part-

on this one i tried to pop the bee's belly a bit for a more round look, like she just ate some yummy pollen, lol.

and this one is simply beautiful. hard to see but there is a bit of stickles too.

these are such cute images, perfect for a little girl bedroom or nursery.

the banner die cuts are from cricut pretty pennants cartridge.
the top part of the banner was adhered using foam tape and all the wings have been bent for more dimension. a bit of stickles for bling, of course.
the coloring was done with alcohol markers and images were cut by hand BUT drawn by the cricut explore.

if you have any questions, please, email me. i will do my best to get back to you in a timely manner.

remember,
do not miss this fun challenge and the chance to support small business too.
these challenges run for two weeks and this one ends on march 10.
the theme is "anything goes" and you do not have to use a cre8tive hands digi stamp to participate.
a random prize winner will receive one bundle of choice from michelle's etsy store.

as always,
thanks so much for stopping by!

ART JOURNAL/CIRCLES...playing with mixed media

sharing another mixed media project for
joggles art journal challenge.
-this time we are using circles-

CHEERFUL STATE OF MIND
i called it
i enjoyed using some gelatos for my background. the colors are tangerine, red cherry and lemon.
i started applying them with my fingers but ended up using the brush and mixing them with water on my mat. i also applied them on the watercolor paper, sprayed water and mixed them with the brush. i think i got a good mixing of colors.

for the circles i used sun images from various cricut cartridges: gypsy wanderings, just because cards and, soccer.
i outlined them with a black marker and then with a white gel pen.

for the phrase i used joy clair stamps.

i know i am super late with these challenges and i am not able to upload them to their site but nonetheless you can enjoy them here as  much as i am enjoy them. you should come and give them a try too.
i would love to see what you make.

thanks so much for stopping by

and have a great sunday!

ART JOURNAL/POTION GRIDS...playing with mixed media

this is my second entry for the art journal challenge from joggles.

no experience necessary, it is just for fun.  lol.

Potion Grids
the apothecary bottles are cling stamps from graphic 45 and the background is a mix of spray inks, acrylic paints and gesso.
the numbers and arrows are clear stamps.
had fun making it. not as many steps but just the same.
4fun. 4fun. 4fun.

NOTE: i lost the chance to upload it to their blog because i was super late--- a month late, ouch! :(

PLAYING ALONG WITH CHALLENGES

while browsing fb i saw joy clair is having its first monthly challenge
http://joyclair.typepad.com/blog/2016/02/monthly-challenge.html
and why not to join them since they are a fabulous group.

this is my submission.

I love to have you in my life
3.5" x 5.75"
the greetings on this card are from joy clair stamps: the i love is from hugs and smiles, the to have you in my life is from thank you for everything and the tiny outlined hearts are from wedding wishes.
the girl and the mailbox is a stamp set from mft and is called pure innocence. i purchased it used from one of their designers.
the blue textured strip was done with another punch negative and some blue texture paste (already colored) and i added some wet embossing to all the hearts. the small yellow flowers are from io. i used the same ones on this halloween haunted village, they are super cute and they have come in handy more than once. the piercing was done with a thin die from paper smooches. i used that same die on this new year's day watercolor background card.

the challenge page has been linked in case you want to play along.

take care and thanks for stopping by.

NO WINGS...

hello all,

not too long ago i was the lucky winner of a beautiful cling stamp set from the
Paper Wings Production.

i finally had time to play with the stamp, here is my project:

No Wings...
-this is the sentiment i used-
(hence the name of my sign/project)

a bit about this project:
the wood patterned paper is from 7 dots studio. it is from the same
nature walk collection i used for my mini.

i covered some shaped chipboard with this "musical blooms" paper and inked and roughed the edges of it. i also used some walnut ink from tsukineko to make the blotches you see near the bird.

i stamped the bird using some colorbox mix'd media black ink because i wanted a soft look.

for the sentiment i used ranger archival ink because for this i wanted a crisp look.

these birds on a branch are also from the the same stamp set i won: Bird Beauty.
i embossed them with lindseys embossing powders: midnight copper and tannerbaum green gold.

the dripping you see covered with the midnight copper embossing powder was stamped using a recollection stamp set called: splat.
some jute and some black wire makes my project a mini hanging sign.

this is the stamp set i chose.
the sentiments are so encouraging and the images so pretty.

well, and this is it for today.

hope you enjoyed my project.
i wanted to share with you the pretty stamp.

i am adding it to the aviary for this month's challenge. it ends tomorrow the 27th at 11pm cst...i am running late. :D

have a great week and a better 4th of july.

thanks for stopping by flowerdisco's scrap hut.

A PAPER WINGS PRODUCTION CHALLENGE ENTRY

ANYTHING GOES
challenge

it has been a long time since i have participated in a challenge.

Hop-Hop
tag
the base for my tag comes from a cricut cartridge called cricut everyday and the bunny is from kate's abc's (another cricut cart).

the pretty patterned paper is from Glitz/Finley and so are the letters (hop-hop).

the velvety green tail was done using a mini glue dot covered with velvet powder from doodlebug. i think is so cute. the grass was done with a martha stewart paper punch.

the ribbon is from a roll i had ordered a while back and never used. it was white and i sprayed it with some green moss color i have in my stash.

this challenge ends tonight...i know i am late but if you still want to participate, here is the link to:

-thanks for stopping by-

have a great day!

SKETCHY FRIDAYS NEWS

hello

and a huge happy mother's day to all!

 i have some sad news:

this week we are closing down
"Sketchy Friday".
I am so sorry to see it go but it is a decision sonia made. She knows better and she knows the Y's.

i want to thank all of you who came to my blog from Sketchy Friday. i appreciate you taking the time to come over because you liked my project using sonia's digis.
who knows what the future holds for sketchy friday, if any. :(

thank you sonia for giving me the opportunity to enjoy your super cute images and i wish you the best my friend.

here is a card i had made for my turn next friday but since there is no more sketchy friday i am sharing it with you today. :)

sonia has these gorgeous butterflies in her shop and i chose my favorite one for today's project BECAUSE, sonia will keep her SK DIGIS store open and sonia will continue designing, you can still enjoy her designs. that is a huge plus, lol.
we won't loose it all :)

anyway, this is my card for you today
Fluttering by to Say Hi
3.5" x 5" tall
the butterflies were cut by hand and the jar was cut using my cricut expression.

i used vellum for the jar and my spectrum noirs for the coloring.
(since my butterflies were printed at 1 inch and 3/4 inch high, i chose to cut off the antennas to make it easier to cut by hand, but they do come with the antennas)

i also added some other butterflies inside the jar along with some glitter)
i also loved all the papers i chose for this card.
and the stamped sentiment is adorable too and i loooove that font.
i hand cut that extra bottom piece in patterned paper. i think it added so much to the jar.

SUPPLIES USED
IN THE MAKING OF MY CARD
digital image:     SK DIGIS
patterned papers:     fact from basic grey (red) and traditions from carta bella (blue/yellow)
yellow enamel dot:     my mind's eye
vellum
cotton twine

any questions? please contact me and always remember to
click and share
for others to see pretty projects :)

thanks for stopping by and have a super beautiful MOTHER'S DAY weekend!
