HELLO

Hello All,
This is Agnes welcoming you to another Cut Cardstock blogpost. Today I am sharing with you what I think it turned out a great card. This card came to mind after talking to a dear friend of mine who is a school teacher and because I know she does a wonderful job with her students I wanted her to know how much she is truly appreciated.

I used the Esse 100lbs black textured cardstock from Cut Cardstock for this card.
I used it for the card's base, I also used it for some of the embellishment shadows and for my greeting. The patterned paper is from Pink Paisley: Memorandum and Atlas and you also can find them at the Cut Cardstock store.

I fuzzy cut the clipboards from the Memorandum patterned paper, die cut the shadows using my die cutter (Cricut Explore) and adhered them to the front of the card. I then punched out some circles using a paper punch, die cut some stars and the letters a, b and c using some thin dies and layered them on top of the clipboard as shown in pics.
I then used another thin die and cut the Hello and glued on top.
I also added some smaller stars to the front and to the inside.

I loved how this Esse cardstock performs. Despite is a 100 lbs. cardstock I had no problems using my thin dies to cut some of the embellishments. I also didn't have any problems cutting the chipboards shadows when I used my die cutter and you can see how small those tiny cuts are.

Here is a close up of the greeting.

And here is the completed card with a peek at the inside.
I know my friend will be thrilled and I know she will frame it to display it in her classroom.
I hope you like it too.

As always, we appreciate your visit.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Note: The school is an image from the My World Cricut Library and was cut at 2-1/4" tall and the clipboards from Sportsmania.

WATERCOLORED VALENTINE'S DAY BUBBLES LOVE CARD

hi,
oops! eta: welcome to the hut!
welcome to the digi playground blog.

this is agnes and i
hope you had fun celebrating the new year.we  stayed home, watched netflix until midnight and then went to bed.
hubby was sick. it seems he gets sick every christmas. i think it is a bad habit he acquired a while back, hehe.
nonetheless, we did welcome the new year with joy and gratefulness.
:D

now onto my project for the digi playground:
a love card---a bubble love card that is.
-all bubble-licious-
it is a samantha walker svg and i have had it for a while just waiting to be remembered, lol.
it is an easy card to mass produce especially if i/you decide to make a few for v-day.
my first try was using distress ink on the bubbles but i didn't like how it turned out so i moved to plan b and used my watercolors for the background.

Love Card
4-1/4 x 5-1/2"
-a sneak peek-

i used a few drops of red, pink, blue and black onto the wet watercolor paper and to speed up the process, i used my heat tool to dry it and then i sprinkled a few drops of water and some gold paint onto the surface and dried again.

then i brushed the entire surface with a matte finish medium and immediately after i sprinkled some super fine gold glitter onto it. i did that to secure the glitter onto my textured watercolor paper.
so pretty!

the smaller hearts were made using a paper punch. the bigger heart comes with the svg file.
it seems there are lots of steps but they are easy ones and you will have lots of fun playing with your watercolors too. and by all means you do not have to do them all. the card is beautiful just as it comes. i just wanted to play a bit with it.

another idea that came to mind was making it into a shaker.

anyhow, this is the svg i used in its raw version, :D
and it has been linked for your convenience.

i am also linking to all the valentine's day cuties they have in the store. they are too cute not too share.

and now i thank you for taking the time to stop by.

thanks a bunch and have a great day!

HAPPY NEW YEAR IN PINK

hello all,
i hope you all had a great christmas!
mine was relaxed with happiness all around us.
dear son was able to spend 10 days with us and we had many get together's with family and friends.
not every year is this busy, :)

anyway, here i am sharing another handmade card using an svg from the digi playground.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
5.25" x 4" card
super cute!
my inspiration for the color pink on this card was from the pantone 2016 color of the year: rose quartz.

this is the svg i used for my card:
2016 Folded Card
it was designed by miss carina gardner.

i wanted to add a few more elements to it:
banner, branches, circle, stars and happy new year are die cuts NOT included in the file.

i also added some glitter with stickles for some new year's bling.
:D

and with this i am wishing you a great 2016 year.
may god bless you all!

LAISSEZ LES BONS TEMPS ROULER!

hello all,
welcome to my last project for joy clair
today i am showcasing the mardi gras stamp set.
ironically the sentiment i chose for my card is:
let the good times roll.
i haven't have a good time for a while now and for the same reasons i won't be able to stay.
it is so funny that unconsciously i chose this phrase. i sure will have to
"laissez les bons temps rouler"
for real.
lol.

these masks are so pretty. i used its digi dies to cut the masks. i then used an embossing pad to add gold embossing powder and glitter.

i used a pearlized cardstock for the card layers. the golden splashes were done with a gold acrylic paint and a cheap watercolor brush.
the black ink i used smeared a bit on the slick surface and it took a while to dry.
the tiny fleur de lis are also from the same stamp set. the stitched border was done with a fiskars paper punch.

i cut these pennants from a cricut cart and the tiny fleur de lis here are from a g-studio paper punch. i covered them with stickles.
the gold tone cs is from dcwv.
the other masks were not glued to the pennants and that is why the middle mask is crooked.
normally, i can't photograph purple well for whatever reason but today i did. lol. i couldn't chance to wait for another day. hehe.

the stamp set is so pretty.

here is some history info on mardi gras in case you are as curious as i am. i wish one day i could visit new orleans too, i have some friends who visit it often and they love it.

well, and this is it for today.

you guys take care and,

thanks for stopping by!

WITH SYMPATHY

for this card i used a background stamp from joy clair.
it is super cute but i have to be honest and say i was stumped at what to make with it, how to use it. anyway, this is what i came up with.
hope you like it.

WITH SYMPATHY
5-1/2 x 4"
i stamped the tufted buttons background stamp over this pretty patterned paper just because i wanted to have the look of fabric for my "comfort pillow" card.
after stamping i went over the design with a black ink pen to make it stand out a bit more.

the fabric flowers are from prima and i stamped over one of them with a flower stamp from a set called paisley bouquet, also from joy clair.
the sentiment is from the same set too.
i used a paper punch for the leaves and stamped the veins on it.
the center of the flower was made with chunky gold glitter.

the "with sympathy" sentiment now matches my pillow background.
comfort pillow that is. <3 :)
what a pretty font!

i added a cotton trim to my card and i used my plaid liquid embossing to cover the paper buttons i had punched to accent the background design.

and this is the entire card.
cute, huh?

anyway, these are the stamps used and they have been linked for your convenience:
 Paisley Bouquet Border Clear Stamps

i would love to hear what you do when you get stumped like i did with this stamp.  lol
i started looking at an old card magazine for ideas and below you will see what got my creativity going.
 by maile bailles

you guys have a great week and i will be back soon with another project using the awesome joy clair stamps.

did you apply for the new design team yet?
i have to take care of some personal matters and i won't be staying. but i will certainly re-apply after i am done with my affairs.

HUGS AND KISSES...because valentine's is almost there

yeap! before we know it we will be celebrating love day.
and here we are ready to entice you, lol

HUGS AND KISSES
4-1/2" x 3-1/2"
this is the style i like the most.
i love to distress and ink. i love the grungy look. i love intense colors. bright colors.
rich hues. i feel at home.

card is all handmade.
cut by hand, stamp by hand, distressed by hand, colored by hand.
no cricut, no dies here.

here is the handwriting font that i love from joy clair. can't get enough of it.

the hugs word, the tiny envelope and the tiny stamp above hugs, the heart to the left they all are from the "hugs and smiles" super pretty stamp set.

i used oldie papers from the lost and found collection that was so popular a few years back. this collection is from my mind's eye. i have a few stacks of it. lol.
i haven't bought new paper in a while. i have tons of it in my stash. when i see something new that i have to have i do buy it, but in the meantime i am forcing myself to use what i have at home. i am pretty sure you are familiar with the hoarding. hehe.

the inside
super cute valentine's day card OR any occasion card.
you choose, lol.

here is the beautiful stamp set. some designers have made gorgeous projects with this one. they used the flowers the most so i did not want to use the flowers too.

SEASON'S GREETINGS

hello all,
today i am sharing a project i made for joy clair design team using the Joyful Wishes
stamp set. this set is packed with many pretty christmas words to combine many sentiments. bonus: it even includes some tiny christmas images like stars and hollies.

SEASON'S GREETINGS
3-1/2" x 5.25"

-love the handwriting font-
sorry about the inking on the edges of the sentiment. it looks very pronounced in the pic but not in real life. i normally use macro when photographing and it maximizes every single micro detail. :(

the poinsettia die cut is from tim holtz.
the center was made with a dry embossing powder. it almost looks like brass. i used the same embossing powder for the sentiment.

i stamped the leaves with another joy clair stamp set from their autumn release: hello autumn. it gives some subtle detail to the plain green cardstock.

this is the joyful wishes i used for today's card and its matching digi dies.

they have been linked for your convenience.
i am also linking the hello autumn because it has beautiful fall leaves you might like.
pretty huh?

well,
i have to go now.
rush-rush-rush
:D

thanks for stopping by and
take care!

LET IT SNOW...

hi guys!

today i have a quick post using the

the inside background and the front (let it snow) were stamped with the snowflakes stamp set.
it has those tiny dots i love. they are the ones on the right side.
Joy Clair Snow Fall Clear Stamp Set
i stamped them with black ink and then dotted the inside with a white gel pen.

the tree is from the christmas wishes set.
i am in love with this set too. i love the trees and the curls. how cute!

there is a transparency/acetate sheet covering the semi circle. you can notice it in the pic where is a bit glassy looking.
the red star was cut with a cuttlebug die.

this was a nice card to make.

click on the links to see more ways to use the snowflakes stamps.

enjoy!
*(i think i need to buy new inks)

POPPIES, POPPIES AND MORE POPPIES

just sharing...

the poppy cut is sooo pretty!

the svg files can be found here.

-you can click on the pics for a close up-

i customized the setting and used the print paper one.

enjoy!
