PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 12

hello all,
we are almost done with the series. one more episode and  "see you later, alligator"-- hehe
next time i need more teammates to make it go faster :P

anyhow, i hope you all had a great 4th of july.

for this episode i had to work with page #77 (which is image #49 on the overlay).

My Shepherd
is on a dcwv mat to hang on my craftroom.
the whole hanging measures approximately 5.5 inches tall
(not counting the wire hanger)
he is so, so adorable. i love how i clothed him too.

that dcwv mat i used, do you remember them? i bought them a few years back. it is thick chipboard covered with their textured white core cardstock. i bought them in all colors. they came in boxes. well, since i am a hoarder of all kind, i still have some. i used the tim holtz embossing folder called cracked. it comes in a set of two. the other one is called checkerboard and i love both.

the trees i already had in my "stash for another day" cuts, but i cut everything else for this assigned page.

i used twine and glued it with tombo adhesive to give it form: one for the sash i used on his clothing and, the other one for donkey's leach (whom i adjusted a bit using my gypsy).
i also tailored his clothes a bit using scissors.
---remember you can click on the picture for a bigger view---

you can see here a bit of how i played with the twine.
that little yellow diamond shape is from a mini paper punch from g studio. i like buying those for small details like this one.

his face was stamped with peachy keen stamps and a bit of white ink pen for the eyes and, i also used stickles for the bling.
the star was done with the martha stewart paper punch "happy birthday" but i just punched out the star part and fixed it with to my needs with my x-acto knife.
the donkey was cut on american crafts cardstock and the boy's clothing in recollection. the doll was cut in kraft cardstock.oh! the crown was cut using a core-dinations glitter cardstock.
(the reason i am starting to list the supplies is for my own future reference, lol---since i forget a lot)

i move on to my teammates projects now:

sheena
isn't this card so pretty?
love the simplicity of it and the sentiment font is beautiful too.

kristie
i think kristie used peachy keen stamps for the eyes too...hehe
they have so many face stamps, oh my! i do not even want to look there anymore, hehe

dawn
front of the card

inside of the card
---a pop up card-
YAY!

well, this is it for today's episode. i will see you next wednesday for the finale of
"PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP".

hugs to all and thank you for stopping by the hut!

if you have time, go to my teammates blogs to see more pics of their projects.
i bet you won't be disappointed.

PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 11

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO ALL!!!

and WELCOME again to our PDDU series. we are already on episode 11, two more and we are done with it.

we decided to use blue, red and white in honor of today's holiday. i bet you will find lots of this around our blogs. :P

to celebrate it, i made a card
 (what i believe i do best :P)

A Living Legacy
2.75 inches wide by 5 inches tall
i think the card's name is so very appropriate. i found it on my stash of g-studios clear stamps.

i was assigned page #73 for this project and i found a mrs. claus, a gingerbread man, a reindeer, a christmas tree, mrs. claus outfit and its accesories. well, what was i going to do with christmas in july? hehe! and then for the 4th of july?

well, i chose mrs. claus headwear, rotfl.
yeap! i took that "bun" of hers and welded it using my gypsy (if you do not have a gypsy you can use the cricut craft room) and transformed it onto a flower (which looks to me like a poinsettia, lol) and used it for my 4th of july theme card.
you see? gotta color outside the lines sometimes, wink-wink.

the banner is handmade, the star was punched out and so was the flower center (i popped that one up with a foam dot adhesive). the ribbon? i used that ribbon? because it reminded me of fireworks. i believe is from ek adornments (i think is discontinued).

i hope you have a great 4th of july and take another minute of silence to honor the meaning behind the holiday and those who fought for it and gifted it to all of us proud americans.

now onto my teammates fabulous projects:

PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 10

hello friends

we are here today to share episode 10 with you all.
sit down and enjoy!

this week i worked with page #69
and i chose to make a garland out of the dolls.

Friendship Garland
(dolls were cut at 5 inches tall)
their tongues are so, so red from licking cherry pops, rotfl.

i bet you can make a nicer garland for a child's party, personalize it and embellish it any theme you have going on for the party.

here are a few more pics.

the faces are from

AND i have finally found a way to make PRETTY TINY bows with a fork.
click on this you tube video to learn how to.

see how easy this cute garland can be made and the little pretty bows too?
hope this post was of help.

now onto my teammates:

sheena
don't you love this card?
i do.

and a belated happy birthday to our dear sheena whose birthday was in the beginning of the week.

kristie

PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 9

hello all

welcome again to another episode of the pddu series. today is episode #9 and i was assigned to work with page #65: pioneer girl.
i chose the basket---accesories1 using the shift button.

Sweet
4" round
i used the wild card cart for the base (my fav card shape from this cart) and for the scallop shapes and the circle.

this color combo is one of my favorites.
that pretty cherry patterned paper is from crate: farmhouse collection. it is from a mini pad (6x6). the sweet sentiment on the tag is from a rub-on and the cherries were cut by hand from a sticker. the basket was cut at 1.75" and all edges were inked for more definition.

that strip of ric rac i found in my ribbon stash and as you can see i paper pierced the circle. the rest of the papers are from a k&co collection, maybe discontinued by now. i can't keep up with the latest collections :P but i find so many pretty papers in my stash.

now onto my teammate projects.

sheena
http://lilflowerslynne1.blogspot.com/
ready for some gobble-gobble? no-no....eat chicken! hehe

kristie
http://just2ducky.blogspot.com/

look at the doll's face!!! wow!

dawn
http://craftycraftymom.blogspot.com/
awesome wagon!
i have to make this at least once.

hoping you enjoyed today's projects, i think they are so nice.

well, this is it for now.

see you around!

DAILY LIFE: surgery went well, i still recovering but each day is better. :P thanks for the fast recovery thoughts.
-- i go today to the surgeon's appt for results on the surgery biopsy and upper gi. my incisions look nice but i look like i have been butchered at some point. i have scars all over my belly from my open heart surgery along with another one and now this one, :(

PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 8

hello fellows,
as you are coming here i am in the hospital having surgery, hehe.
well wishes accepted, negatives will be discarded, lol.

anyhow, here you are to take a look at what we made this week for this awesome pddu series.
this week i had page #61 where you will also find the native american girl, a tepee, a basket, feathers and a few more accessories. that is a lot, right? this is why i chose this cart for the series. it has a bit of
almost every season/event. :P

i chose the vase and the corn stalk, yes, the cornstalk in a vase. but i think it turned out pretty cool.

Any Occasion Card
3 x 6 " tall
this color combo is nice too.
i used mini jewels from a dollar pack to adorn the vase and some small pearls for the cornstalk. this time instead inking i chalked the edges and details.
the cardstock is from dcwv. i really like that mute chevron pattern on the base.

this is the inside, simple but pretty. the patterned papers are just beautiful.

so what do you think, it worked, right?  i like to step out of the box and mix things around for fun. i am not afraid anymore about messing up my pretty papers. that was my biggest beginners fear, hehe but with so much paper in my stash i have to use before i die....i do not care anymore, lol.

lets's see what my sweet teammates made this week for the series.
--- remember clicking on the pics will give you a bigger view and clicking on my teammates names will link you to their blogs where they explain more about their projects---.

awesome clown and you do not have to be afraid of this one. he is a bundle of love. :P

beware of the rise of the apes, hehe (like the movie, i mean)

this is what dawn was doing this past weekend because.....
it was dawn's birthday this past sunday.
happy birthday to you sweet friend.
this canoe makes me go canoeing on the river behind my house :P

aren't these projects awesome this week?
(as every other week, imho)

well, this is it for this week. i do not know how i will be feeling and i really haven't been in the craft room too much lately since the weather has been beautiful and my back has been out again, :( hehe.
i tell you, i do not know what kind of stage in my life i am these days, but is not settling too well with me, lol.

see you around and
thanks again for stopping by the hut.

next episode of the PDDU series will be next wednesday, june 20th.

PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 7

i was really stumped with this assigned page. i wanted to make the super girl but i had made many dolls already and i wanted something different.
here is what i ended up making, :-)
(i will give you a glittery sneak peek first---hehe)

Have a Super Birthday!
3.5" round card
---nice fresh and clean colors---

i looked in my stash of "cuts for another day"
(i keep changing the name because i forget what i called it before, lol)
and found this cut from my world (overlay image #14 using shift) and used it as my base.
i then cut a white circle for the background.
the small stars are from a paper punch and the big yellow one is from pddu pg #50.
the lightning bolt is also from pddu pg #51.
the small circles across the space ship were made with the crop-a-dile :P

and the inside has a stamped sentiment from my pink stamper boy crazy stamp set:
"Have a Super Birthday".
something different from my usual. i like it. :P

let's see what my teammates made for this week with their assigned page.

makes me think of dear potter

and someone had fun at a magic show, cool!

 and another futuristic project.
love this car too and the the background city makes a perfect companion, imo that is. :)

i hope you had some enjoyable time here with these cool projects from the pddu
and....thanks for stopping by the hut, i really enjoy your company!

Daily Life: on monday i went for an upper gi since my gerd has been out of control, and next wednesday i will have gallbladder surgery since i spent the day after mother's day in the emergency room with excruciating pain on my upper abdomen which turned out to be gallstones :(
not feeling too well these days, just that you know.

PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP SERIES---episode 6

WELCOME BACK
(hope you had a great memorial weekend and a minute of silence for our fallen heroes)

today is episode #6 of the paper dolls series (PDDU)
as some of you know, we chose this oldie of a cartridge in the cricut family. pddu has a lot to offer as you can see. these are our projects to share while having fun dissecting this cart in different ways and reminding ourselves or discovering for first time most of the images in it--wink!!!

this week i am working with page #25 and decided to make a mini cards set (three in the set) using some of the images from this page.

Mini Cards Set
4" x 4" square
i used the bat, skeleton and tombstone.

the card base for all is a 4" x 8" piece of cardstock (in this case, i used bazzill), then scored at 4" and corners rounded with a corner rounder from zutter which seems to be getting dull already.
(any suggestions i haven't tried to sharpen it again, will be greatly appreciated. i already tried the foil paper and sandpaper).
anyhow, the mme patterned paper, was cut a 1/8 of an inch smaller: 3- 7/8".
the border is from strips of scrap paper i save in my irises containers for a "quick fix", hehe
the tombstone border is from martha stewart crafts line.

---------

mr creepy skeleton here was cut at 2.91" but i think i could have went up to 3" high for this. the creepy embellishment was found in my "forever stash"--- hehe. the mini banner was handcut.

---------

this tombstone is my favorite.
the banner and font are from blackletter. then, using my "still working" cri-kit markers, i wrote "bones" and did the outline for the banner. it was then popped up with foam adhesive.
the "rip" and the white markings were done with a stamp and that is the look i was going for. later, i added more markings but too lazy to take more pics, :-)
the scalloped border is the negative of some paper punch i have. it was also found in the iris case i mentioned before--wink!!!

and...this is it about my project for today.    now,       we move onto my teammates work.

sheena
hehe, so cool!

kristie

dawn
