IT'S BEEN A WHILE...

Hello all-

As we all know life keeps us busy.

Because all is good we are dealing with other health issues I don't care to discuss right now but is the reason why it took me a while to craft and post.

However, I am sharing with you today my 2017 Christmas Cards.

My inspiration was taken from Pinterest but I couldn't recreate the beauty of the original not that I ever want to. This is my take on it.

Christmas Cards

2017

4" Round Card

I used more than a few die cuts and took me a while to cut and build the prototype.

-Let's start with the Cricut images-

The circle base is from the Cricut cartridge 'Wild Card', Cricut Access #m2fa54.

The circles are from the 'Shapes' feature in Design Space. Cut at 4" and 3-3/4" also to get the ring around.

The candles are from the 'Christmas' cart, Cricut Access #m40ade.

Some of the foliage (green in this card) is from 'Storybook', Cricut Access #m34132 and the banner strips are from 'Bits and Pieces', Cricut Access #mfb1ff.

The font is called 'Wildflower'. I didn't know about it but it showed up in the fonts area and I was able to use it. I am assuming

it is a Free font or was Free at the time I used it.

I liked it very much and it wrote beautifully.

-The rest of the die cuts-

Cottage Cutz: wreath, tiny bow, and the neck applique.

Impression Obsession: the tiny red flowers (reminded me of poinsettias).

Martha Stewart paper punch: the red branch up on top.

Ek Success paper punch: the star on the foliage.

The embossing was done with a Tim Holtz embossing folder called 'Collage and Notebook'.

The sentiment is from Joy Clair stamps and it was embossed using a gold embossing powder, which it went array as I can see in the pics but not in real life, :). Oh well!

MERRY CHRISTMAS DIY HOLIDAY CARDS

Hello all, today I am showing you how I made this set of Christmas Cards.
So far I've made 6 of them and I still have a few more to go.
I used cardstock from the Basis Collection (red) and Pop Tones (green). The white is a linen cardstock called Solar White and the brown used on the deer is from a Core-dinations pack.

The card bases or frames were cut using the Fancy Frames Cricut cartridge and My World for the Christmas trees. (Please, do not mind the trees to the left, most of the time I choose die cuts I end up not using).  I cut a few bases, embossed the background, did some distressed inking and stamped some snowflakes and stamped a design on the trees.

I wanted some snow banks behind the deer and I found a cute one in the Give a Hoot cart. I spread some Tombow liquid glue with my fingers on the surface (I should have used a cheapy brush) and then covered with Diamond Dust. 

The deer I die cut with a Cottage Cutz die. 

I glued the tree to the background using Tombow again and added some sequins too. I added the snow bank and the deer and then I decided to cut some acetate and use it as windows for some of the cards. The green card above is one of them. To attach the acetate I chose score tape.

 I do not know which one I like the most. I think they both came out very nice.

(This red one has no acetate on the front).

The greeting is from a Joy Clair stamp and its digital die.

Cut Cardstock Supplies Used:

MADE WITH COTTAGE CUTZ DIES

just a quickie here to share a santa and a penguin i pieced together using this cottage cutz dies. i bought these dies and a few others when joann had them at 50% off. i thought it was a great deal.

the santa took took a bit of time to put together. 

lulu was really needy that day. i was trying to rush and forgot to add the tree that comes with this die, grr! lol.

the penguin was done fast.

i used white cardstock and used alcohol markers to colored them in.

i made one red and one blue.

i wanted to make the santa for most of my xmas cards but i was short on time. that was when the snowman showed up, lol.

i used one of joy clair stamps for the sentiment "good cheer".

these dies are so much fun. they reminded me when i first started crafting with sizzix dies, way before moving to cricut.

HEAVEN AND NATURE SING...a christmas card

welcome to another post for my new design team

-Joy Clair-

today i am using some of their newest christmas stamps on my card.

i am calling it

"Heaven and Nature Sing"

because of the sentiment i used on the front.

(3-1/4 x 4-1/4")

the greenery is from their rustic christmas sentiments stamp set and matches the sentiment so well.

after stamping it with green pigment ink i used some color markers to highlights some of the beautiful details.
 i also brushed some fine glitter over the stamped image.
it looks heavenly!
(the pun?... i just had too, lol)

 i colored the berries red using another color marker, added a thin fuzzy twine around the first two layers and finished it with a red rhinestone on the center of the bow.

here is the sentiment i used to name my card, love it!

the falala is from the same "merry christmas sentiments" used for the outside sentiment and the music notes border is from their "music maker" stamps set.

as you can see they also go together so well.

SLEIGH BELLS RING...for Joy Clair's Blog

hello all,

very excited to share with you my first blog project for the joy clair design team:

 a christmas card using this 

"Santa's Coming"

 clear stamp set.

Sleigh Bells Ring...

5 x 7

(tent style card)

i stamped the so very pretty santa's sleigh stamp from the
 in red and clear embossed it.
the stamp measures approx. 3-1/4" long (curved like you see it on this card) and around 3/4" tall.
the sky was done using a distressed ink and some water drops and the white layer was done with a snowflakes embossing folder.

the font in that

"sleigh bells ring..." stamp is awesome looking. isn't it?
the size of it is about 2-1/4" long and 1/2" tall.

a bit of stickles to the top on the mountains to resemble snow.
the small holly leaves and berries were done with a paper punch and the berries were accented with some glossy accent.

the stamps really take all inks very well and are very thick and sticky.
it is a pleasure to stamp with them.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

hello all,

and happy holidays.

i want to wish you a very happy and healthy christmas and a fabulous and happy new year.

today is my turn to bring you some inspiration using some of the  fabulous little pretty studiogoodies i have and since it was love at first sight, i had no problems getting in the creative mood with this collection.

 my last card was whimsical and super cute with that so very pretty reindeer and the bright colors. for this project i chose to  take a nostalgic vintage turn. let me introduce you to:

Merry Christmas

 -lovely vintage owls here-

-some embossing on the red cardstcok and a banner and a feather attached with some tiny staples-

the base for my card was made using my cricut and the sentiment is piece of vellum from quick quotes. the color and translucency of it was a perfect match for my owls.

- i believe i achieved the vintage woody look side of this collection-

i am so very happy with it all and very happy with its versatility and quality.

SNOW GLOBE... a shape and shake card

my term with the cutting cafe is coming to an end. this coming month of august will be my last month. regina has asked us to stay but my november and december months are very busy at home and i rather sit this term out.

and talking about december we are asked to make a project with the snow globe or christmas cards. i chose the snow globe and despite is is a card you can use this file for christmas ornaments, banners, embellishments for albums and more.

-today i just have one pic-

another very easy pdf file to cut by hand if you do not own a digital cutter.

the hollies are from another file which i re sized to this smaller size. here are more instructions and tips on how to customize these files.

you see i added the red beads inside the globe and that i used a layer of vellum.

MY 2012 CHRISTMAS CARDS...using jots

hi,

for the records, we are having our first 2012 snow day here in the neighborhood. i woke up to a fine dust and as the day goes, the flakes are getting a bit bigger. they are expecting 1-3 inches of it. we shall see. 

nah, it did not happen on my area anyways. :P

remember the poinsettia i made here? i used the christmas noel for that one but, i found this other one in the joys of the season (jots- after watching a you tube video) and i wanted to try it. the image is #38 on the overlay and i used the blackout feature for it. i cut two of them at 4 inches, one at 3 inches and one at 2 inches. oh! and the pretty leaves are also from jots: image #34 using the layer and shift features and i know the double sided paper is from k&co.

 all my papers are from my stash and if i recall there is some basic grey, dcwv and mme. i went and bought the small beads for the center at acm. 

i already had made the base for my cards and i just needed an embellishment for the focal point.

these are my card bases that i had previously made and below you will see the computer printed sentiment. i got this sentiment from a greetings card cd i have.

i hope you like my christmas cards for this year. i am not done with them and i won't be making too many either because the extra postage. the ones i make dimensional will be delivered by hand with their gifts. the postal ones will be having a flat poinsettia. :)

anyway, i wanted to blog about Webster Pages Sprinkle Monthly Box. I ordered the november box and my package somehow got delivered to someone in washington state. anyway, i complained about it (after i checked the delivery confirmation), and their customer service couldn't be more helpful. 

they are awesome and i wanted to give them kuddos here on my blog.

 the link above will show what the sprinkles box is all about and how inexpensive it is to get one!

and with the good.... comes the bad too, lol

 another kit i ordered but with this one i got totally burned :D. it was a halloween kit from well known designer. i couldn't be more disappointing. not only i paid a fortune but the extra goodies she sent for the immense tardiness did not make up for the burn. i was very impulsive with this purchase: well, never again.

i won't be mentioning any names here but i will say some "details" are not worthy. and that is that. hehe.

and now i retire to my studio where i will be finishing some more christmas cards.

A CHRISTMAS CARD...featuring a poinsettia

hello all,

it took me a while to be back here blogging and posting. the clean-up after sandy was a bit exhausting for me and still have to get to the front of the house. in the meantime the shredded leaves on that side are blowing away. 

my heart breaks every time i see the news and all the devastation sandy's fury left. i told you i was just trying to easy my mind and hoping for the best. i knew inside me she was no good. what we lost is nothing compare at all, not a micro bit, to what others did. i am not saying we lost anything but a blue spruce tree :D,  but others that lost so much and when they look back there are others who lost some more. my heart cries.

my prayers and thoughts are with them while they recover.

on the other hand, the generator worked well, hehe,

 i am not intimidated by it anymore. the only thing, being a smaller one, i had to make a few runs for gas and at the end, it was no more gas :(, but then..... the electricity came back.....that same night.

now onto my card for today. i made this cutie a while ago and i sincerely can't find my notes. i think i shredded them along with my son's voters registration, lol. yeap! i did that. He balloted being an absentee, but still. the things i do sometimes.

anyway,

here i have a beautiful poinsettia.

 i know i used dcwv patterned papers and maybe some mme and we all know the button is a ms punch.

this is such a pretty card, imho that is. :P

if i find that little branch, and find that i have more of the same paper, i think i will make more of the same for my christmas cards this year.
