HALLOWEEN VINTAGE BOOT...using a pdf file

this is so cute and since i won't be around by the cafe when october comes, i did not want to loose the opportunity to make this vintage boot image into a witch's boot for halloween.
hehe

The Witch's Boot
5.75" x 4.75"
this time what i did was i printed out all the parts in plain copy paper. (i normally print it straight on patterned paper). i cut each piece separately (just a rough cut-leaving around 1/2 inch from the outline) and used a dot of glue on that 1/2 inch to secure it safely to the cardstock i used. i then cut all the parts by hand again, hehe and assembled. actually what i made was a template, wink!

i stamped the stars on the green recollections cardstock (love that cs) and embossed the black recollection cs lightly (did not use the cuttlebug for this step but a bone folder) using a darice embossing folder my sweet friend sheena sent me. the embossing name is crackle, hehe.

maybe you can see it here a bit better. i also inked parts of the outline with a silver ink, just another subtle touch, as you can see.

the bow was made with a glitter nylon tulle i got at m's the other day on clearance and i added a light purple rhinestone that i still love, lol.

the green and black buttons were made with punches, glued on and stickled.

 enjoy!

now for all the file info and or to see what my darling teammates made, please click here to go regina's  the cutting cafe shop and or blog.

thanks a bunch for stopping by.

THE WITCH---A BITTEN BY THE BUG 2 CHALLENGE

what a nice image we have this week for the challenge. you will find it in the happy hauntings cartridge but as you might know already, if you do not own that cart, you can use any other that has a similar image.
come on!!! and have fun with us.
this project will be perfect for this halloween and many more to come.
i made a home decor/wall art project. it is so darn cute you are going to love it.

The Witch
6" x 9"
misses witch here was cut at 3"
and can you believe i do not have black glitter?
i was so upset because i wanted to cover her gown and cape with glitter (and did not want to go to the store), so i added some sparkles with a silver glitter pen i own.

i added some dimension as you can observe here.
(it looked like too flat on the frame without the foam tape).

these pretty papers were cut as follows to cover the 6 x 9" chipboard frame:
from the top: 3- 2 x 3"
center: 2- 1 x 3" in each side and the middle one is 4 x 3" (where the witch is)
and then 3 more pieces 2 x 3" for the bottom part.

added some rhinestones, some bats border, the crop-a-dile made the holes for the purple brads and black wire was used as the hanger. of course i inked every piece and added some ribbon to the wire.
below is the complete project:
please join us if you have time.

WITCHY--- A BITTEN BY THE BUG CHALLENGE

HELLO
i have a new BLOG BUTTON not made by me this time, lol. i had chris from http://chatterscene-mom.blogspot.com/p/custom-blog-info.html made it for me. hopefully, you pay her a visit and see how beautiful her work is and how beautiful she can make your blog for a super very reasonable price. i did not want a blog makeover because i like to change things around a lot, but i did want a button that i can always use and that you can grab if you want to.

anyhow, this week at the Bitten by the Bug, we are working with a frog from create a critter, page #24.
let's play along!
this is my project using the cute froggie.
since the witches have already getting ready for their day, i wanted to make my frog fit for the occasion.

Witchy
3.5" x 6"
you might ask what kind of envelopes i use for these sizes...well, with the gypsy, i can maneuver the envelopes in some cartridges and customize them for my cards. ;D
purple is always so hard for me to photograph well, :(
the witchy epoxy circle just added the perfect touch for the spot and, gave me a name for the card. on the back, i just hot glued a piece of black dyed bias ribbon.
the spider web on the left is from october 31st, image #8 on the overlay and,
flipped to fit on the left side of my card. some of the web is behind the background paper.

this cardstock i used for the frog it was a plain cardstock which i stamped with purple ink to give it some substance. i am trying to play more with my stamps and this is a pretty example of what you can do with stamping.
the green bat on her necklace is the negative of a paper punch, i covered it with glossy accents for a bit more of bling.

the fancy right edge border is another paper punch from fiskars, and the orange and black beads i purchased on clearance last year after halloween for this halloween...thrifty/frugal/cheap/smart???...
whatever you want to call me, lol

this is the final card. i just love it so much and i hope you do too and give you a push to participate in this week challenge at Bitten by the Bug.

thanks so much for stopping by
and, next week is my turn to choose the image you will be working on the challenge. yay! you do not want to miss it, lol.

------------
NOW...it is my pleasure to announce the winner of last week Bitten by the Bug hop.
below is a reminder of the rules for the giveaway:

"i have a small giveaway and i will use random.org to choose for me.
