A BOOKMARK FOR DAD

HELLO ALL
hope you are doing great.
i am doing fab....just had my son over for 2 entire weeks, yay!
we spent some priceless time together.
i am so happy.

anyway, since father's day is coming soon i made a bookmark for my husband since he does not like to read, lol....but he can use it at work for some paperwork...mmm, all is paper less anymore, hehe.
i guess i will end up using it myself.

i am calling the bookmark
Oh, Happy Day!
Dad
i am sharing my project at nanikeola scrapbooking. it was my turn to play with the awesome cold country from 7 dots.
between nature walk and cold country i do not know which one i like better. both collections are beautiful...but then nanikeola have more from 7dots that i am also in love with. the pictures do not do them justice. when you have those papers in front of you...oh my!

on this bookmark i also used some of lindy's stamp gang sprays, some embossing powder, gesso and a  clear stamp set from illumination (another awesome collection from 7dots) . the orangey mini alphas are from messy head (heh, another fab 7dots collection. can you tell how much i like 7dots?) and those mini alphas are so very cute.
the mini paper clip is from tim holtz. the stamped numbers are from my mind's eye.

the heart and the tag where i stamped the sentiment are from nature walk. i added some purple dots with some kind of texture media i had in my stash for a while and i rubbed some of it on the edges too.

some machine stitching and rough edges of course, :D

well, and this is it for now. i hope you enjoyed my bookmark and i hope inspires you to play with some different media like i am just doing. i still love my die cuts but right now i am having fun getting stained, lol.

thanks for stopping by.

TAKE FLIGHT WITH ME...playing with inks

hello all
hoping you guys had a fabulous mother day.
i spent mine in a flower garden i am working on and then out for dinner.
it was a beautiful day.

today i want to share with you this journal cover i made using some of  lindy's stamp gang sprays.  this is my second time using them i love them. i love the colors and how they spray. i also like that they come in powder form and you  get to mix them at home. i felt like an alchemist, lol.

 Take Flight with Me
BY FLOWERDISCO FOR NANIKEOLA MIXED MEDIA USING LINDY'S STAMP GANG INKS (3)
i used the "starburst" set sprays from lindy's:  tibetan poppy teal, ponderosa pine olives and autumn maple crimson.
i think these are my favorites from the starburst set.

the sticker that i chose for my project's title comes from the nature walk collection from 7dots (another love of mine).

BY FLOWERDISCO FOR NANIKEOLA MIXED MEDIA USING LINDY'S STAMP GANG INKS (2)
i also used the same "spring" stamp set from the paper wings productions i used on the mini for the hop.
"and i think to myself, what a wonderful world"
think about it...this small phrase has a huge meaning. love it too.

the stencil used was pre-cut with my cricut expression and i used some white pigment ink with it.
i also used some foam stamps for the word "me" and used the same white pigment ink. i then outline the word with a black ink zig pen.

the "with" mini alpha stickers are from glitz.
BY FLOWERDISCO FOR NANIKEOLA MIXED MEDIA USING LINDY'S STAMP GANG INKS (4)
above you can see the "music" stamp, some white splashes done with gesso, some clear embossing powder and the
if i might say, beautiful flower  i embellished with stickles, gesso and some of the spray inks.

you also can see some zigzag stitching.

BY FLOWERDISCO FOR NANIKEOLA MIXED MEDIA USING LINDY'S STAMP GANG INKS (1)
here you can see the entire finished cover.
this was really a lot of fun.
and....i know i said i would leave the mixed media to my teammates but i got curious and decided to give it a try.
no regrets.

A HOPE CARD...and tearing some paper

hello all,

this card i made for a friend who is having a bit of a rough time:
i chose this torn paper technique, because this is how she feels right now: torn apart :(

Hope
5.5" x 3.5"
disclaimer: this card is heavy, very heavy.
it has been made with tons of love. :)
the card base is from a pack i bought from gartner studios a while back. these are the standard size of an A2 but i cut some of it off to fit my needs.

all the pretty patterned papers are from 7 dots studio (including the sentiment-hope). i have the 6x6 pad and i love the texture of it and that is perfect for the distressing techniques i am "in" lately :D.

i used a sakura gelly roll pen (clear star) to outline the word hope and give it a subtle shine. i also did some sewing machine stitching.
i like the thick gutterman thread for this kind of stitching. i buy it at j's.

i had ordered these cute stamps from color hills. since i saw that font, i fell in love with it. i had made this project using some patterned paper from that same company and i was enchanted by the font...hehe.
it reminds me of the all mixed up font from one of the cricut cartridges.
so i had to use them here
because behind all the mix up, there is indeed a story to tell. wink!

---old good times (when all was simpler) lol---.

thanks so much for continuing to visit me, :D
i appreciate you.

ALWAYS N' FOREVER....a framed card

hello fellow crafters,
hope you all are doing well.
i am fighting a cold that hubby gave me, grrr!
but before i got sick i had made this cute framed card i will be placing in my family room along with some other goodies i make and like to display.

i am still using the 'love you more' collection from elle's studio. i am in love with the bits and pieces and labels and tags and wanted to play some more.

Always n' Forever
3.75" x 4.75"

the background patterned paper is called 'hugs' from the same love you more collection i have been using.

got enough distressing yet?
hehe
it seems that stitching and distressing are my 'to go' techniques lately :D

-the labels/tags here are from the bits and pieces pack-
and the 'my favorite' yellow one is from the journal tags below

----

i cut a small easel from a tim holtz metal die cut for the back. this way i can display it and if i want to send it to someone i can easily fold the back.

here is the entire card/frame.

hope it inspires you somehow.

the 'love you more' elle's studio collection can be found at nani ke ola's scrapbooking.

thanks for stopping by.

SO SWEET...using 7 dots studio

hello and welcome.
yay!...we are back at nani ke ola for a glorious 2014.
this card i made uses the Love is in the Air collection from 7 Dots Studio.
i hope you enjoy it.
So Sweet
BY FLOWERDISCO FOR NANI KE OLA UISNG 7 DOTS STUDIO (6)
i chose to distress and sew on my pretty patterned papers to make this So Sweet Card.
i am loving the watercolor/mixed media  look this collection showcases and that i did not use traditional colors for this valentine's themed card.
BY FLOWERDISCO FOR NANI KE OLA UISNG 7 DOTS STUDIO (2)
the paper i used for the base is called "rising of the sun" and the green one is called "whisper of the tree". i cut two pieces (one was cut at 3x6 and the other one was cut at 2.75x5.75").
BY FLOWERDISCO FOR NANI KE OLA UISNG 7 DOTS STUDIO (3)i
i added a strip of paper to the right from the back of the whisper of the tree (the patterned papers are double sided)  and i cut the bottom into an upside down "V" for a banner looking element.
i also added the sentiment from their 12x12 elements sheet.
the heart is from my stash (die cut) and the ink used to chalk the edges is from "powder puff".
i even added (stitched) a piece of paper to the inside to write a love note to my hubby.
BY FLOWERDISCO FOR NANI KE OLA UISNG 7 DOTS STUDIO (5)
i hope you enjoyed my project for today.

YOU EQUAL AWESOME...made with a brown paper bag

happy fall to you all
the weather in my area has been beautiful, cool and crispy. i hope you are enjoying it too.

today's post for artful delight was inspired by a pin from pinterest. i will show it at the end of the post.

You = Awesome
Me = Grateful
using a small brown paper bag
(all supplies minus the paper bag are founded in the artful delight september card kit)

folding the bag in certain way to have a pocket where you can insert a note, money, tickets or whatever you would like. i stitched the two patterned papers with my sewing machine onto the bag, hard to see because of the edges being distressed.

i cut strips of the brown panel paper into strips to add some of the sentiments from the paper smooches stamp set called many thanks ALSO included in the september card kit, and tuck them inside the pouch. i made the semi circle on the patterned paper with a circle punch to match the one already in the paper bag. i added it the rounded fleur d lis paper clip just because to me it was the perfect spot :D.
i wrapped it all in jute and also added one of the small arrow chipboard on the center of the bow.

more arrow chipboards where added pointing to the chipboard cloud where i stamped another sentiment from the paper smooches stamp set.
this project has many uses....just use your imagination, :D

if you would like to join us in this month's challenge, please click here. you will also find more projects there made with our september kits (scrapbooking and/or card).

hope you enjoy it.
here is my inspiration from that pin

have a great week!

A THANK YOU...using a chipboard as the main element

i made this Thank You card for today.
4" x 5"
it is a meaningful card to me because i am saying "good bye" to pumpkin spice today.
it was so much fun!

anyhow,
let me tell you a bit about the supplies i used for my card: the pretty papers are from cosmo cricket, the sweet girl is a chipboard from crate paper and the thank you sticker is from carta bella. i machine stitched a bit and popped the sticker on a foam dot. i love how the colors came together so well despite the fact i am using three different collections. all products come from the pumpkin spice shop. remember shop pumpkin spice has an ebay store. it is down as of today but it will be back after the 26th.

thank you so much for stopping by!
xx

SNAPSHOT...using some chipboard from the artful delight card kit

hello all

these days i am onto making this type of smaller but long card. i think they look so cute and different from the squared ones or a2 size ones.

this one i called
snapshot and i also added a thanks.

if you read the lyrics on the song paper from pebbles: camp song, you will understand why i added the thanks and the snapshot is for the view of life.

i normally have some kind of meaning of what i do and why i do it but i do not write about it. this time i wanted to get your attention to it. it is my way of thinking and is all in my creative process, hehe. we are not all alike and can't pleased anyone but nature is something so beautiful and i thank you our creator and do lift my hands for it and bow my head too and bend knee also. lol.

Thanks for the Snapshot
3" x 5"
there is not all of the song but get the idea what i am talking about.
if you want to read the whole hymn, you can click here (yes, i looked it up, lol)

this is the other side of my card and you can see all the added dimension these pretty chipboard from fancy pants add to my card. (i cut off the top (charm part) of the snapshot in case you are wondering, :P)

the floral paper is also from pebbles and is called wildflowers.

and finally the entire card and the awesome size i am loving so much lately.

all my supplies are from the august card kit from artful delight (except the thread and black border which i made using a fiskars punch). they also have scrapbooking kits.

hope you liked the meaning of my card and the beauty within.

as always,
thank you so much for stopping by.

WE ARE THE WINGS....a handmade card for the cutting cafe

hello all...
i am welcoming you to my blog today with a beautiful sentiment and card from
this file is called social butterflies and i immediately fell in love with this image and its sentiment.

"We are the Wings of a Butterfly, bound together with the Love of God"
4.25" x 6"
-sorry about the cloudy/washed out pic here-
(maybe i am not used to soft colors and i think is washed out)
once again, i used the pdf doc file for this card.
i printed out on patterned paper and the with the x-acto knife i cut out the leaves to back them up with a patterned paper. at first, i was thinking to color them in  but changed my mind. i think the twist of thoughts turned out much better and it was a fun.

i did some of the zig zag stitching to secure all the layers together in place of adhesive.
(after  securing them in the middle with my atg, just a short diagonal line)

please, remember i cut by hand and not all is perfect, especially when i drop my x-acto knife with my last new blade  on the floor, and the tip broke, lol.

i hope you try this, it is nicer in real life...the pics are awful. so sorry!
i will try to re shoot and re placed them.
ETA: took new photos/replaced them but still couldn't get any better....i am leaving them like this---so sorry.

this social butterfly set comes with 22 images and it has more than a dozen individual butterflies and a few sentiments, including some round ones.
there is another pretty sentiment you are going to love.

i hope you have a great sunday and a better week.

thanks for stooping by!

A PUMPKIN SPICE BLOG PROJECT...using a card kit

hello everyone,
this is agnes
(today i am a sub for tanya at pumpkin spice blog).

i hope you like the card i made

Some People...
7" x 5"
i am in love with these papers. they are from cosmo cricket . i have the kit and there is so much to choose from in it. the heart was die cut with my cricut expression using the dr. check up cartridge. i also did some sewing machine stitching in the center and i also stitched bordered the card.

---a very quick card but with a long lasting impact---
(imho)
the sentiment is very meaningful for someone you care about, to let them know how you feel about them.
i cut it out from one of the border papers that come in the kit.
the small button flowers on the side are from a sizzix die.

i even finished the inside:

i think it looks so soft with a spring feeling in it.

this is the kit i used:
and this is the link for the individual supplies

thanks so much for stopping by and i certainly hope i inspired you today,

take care!
