(the shape comes from a cricut cartridge called fancy frames)

i did a few stitches with my sewing machine. some inking.

used a few enamel dots and a chipboard button, the white mesh and white trim. 

and this is the final project in it entirety.

and now you can see it why i said it can be used in different ways.

well, this is my share of the day.

A PUMPKIN SPICE POST...where anything goes

out theme is

"anything goes" and to match our weekly challenge of "stars and/or fireworks" i made an

 "uncle sam" card.

An Uncle Sam's Card

i used the george and basics shapes cricut cartridge to design my uncle sam but you can do all by hand. it is not a hard project to do but it did take me a bit of time. but then, all takes me a bit of time :P

my uncle sam moves too. his body was attached with crochet thread.
the "round sticker" is from my stash of the pumpkin spice store and the "usa" is from another paper punch.

i dry embossed the background and the red with the cuttlebug.
his beard was made using twine. the stars, pant/hat stripes were stamped on. the blue star was punched out. i colored his cheeks with a regular colored pencil.

his eyes were made with the crop a dile and so were the holes to connect the parts.
i also inked everything for more definition.

HANDMADE---super easy to make pet collar/necklace

every month a make for miss lulu an accent pet collar, beaded necklace or a flower.

all i used here was a piece of ribbon-----measure your pet's neck and add a few more inches for the knot and because you do not want to strangle your pet, lol, but you do not want it too loose it can get stuck on things----

disclaimer: use your common sense and of course i am not responsible for any damage to your ribbons, flowers and/or pet-:-)

i have these prima old flowers i normally use on her necklaces and i attach them with a craft glue dot. on this case i even added a brad after cutting the prongs, i do not want miss lulu to get a sore if the brad rubs against her skin--;p and voila! you have make a trendy collar/necklace for your pet.

miss lulu loves them, she loves to be stylish--hehe

HALLOWEEN PAPER ROSETTE

So I have been trying to participate on some challenges around the blogs and I made it to the Peachy Keen Blog and this is my project for them.

Halloween Paper Rosette

 You might know how to make them already and they are pretty easy to work with.

I used a My Mind's Eye Halloween stack for the base. I cut from it  2 strips: 12 inches long by 2.5 and scored it at every 3/4 inch. I then proceeded to ink them, punched the border, folded it accordion style,  glue the two strips together at both ends. I had punched a circle and using my glue gun AGAIN, lol, put a big glob of glue in the center and arranged my accordion flower on top of it. You have to work a bit faster on this step and you have to get your fingertips burned too like I did, lol. it is part of the process, lmbo.

 Do you see the beautiful texture on the hat? 

 This is my first time using my Fiskars embossing plates and using my new but old Big Shot, lol and using my never touched before Core-dinations stack. I embossed the little hat that I cut from Paper Dolls and embossed it and sanded it. I read somewhere that if you mist the cardstock first when using the Fiskars plates you will get a deeper embossing. I did just that and you can see how nice it came out. Now, if I could just  find my Sizzix plates too but couldn't find them today. Who knows where I put them the last time I re-organized. lol

I hand cut the star and stamped with a Peachy Keen stamp.  I used my glitter pens but it was hard to get a photo of it.

The tiny stars on the brim of the hat are punched from a cheapy set I have that I normally used more than not when I want something small like it.

I guess you can add a hair pin to it or some other kind of pin on the back but I used a craft wire to hang it around the house and added some ribbon to it.

TISSUE FLOWER

While my husband was painting our bathroom

and stopped asking for help, LOL

I decided to give a try to the

scalloped flowers I have seen

so much lately.

I made mine using purple tissue paper

and my Fiskars scalloped  1 inch punch.

I think I punched through maybe 5 layers of paper

at a time and I did this 3 times.

Then, I used my paper piercer to pierce the layered scallops

in the center, then I added a brad to keep them together

while I scrunched and scrunched layer by layer. Then, with my tweezers

I separated each layer and added a bit of purple stickles to the flower.

Super easy with the tissue paper.

I used the Sweethearts cartridge for this one.

I also used the CDS since the G gives me a headache :)

The scalloped hearts are cut at 5 inches, the pink ones are 4 inches, the white ones are done using the hide contour feature and using the same cut I used for the pink ones at 2.75 inches. The cupids are 3 inches and the pink hearts they are holding are 1 inch. I used pop dots to rise some of the hearts. 

The ribbon I used is a gross grain, but I do not remember the source.

The square stamp that is in the center was cut at 6.5 inches with a shadow.

The garland extends, NOT COUNTING the length of the ribbon, approximately 30 inches.

Notepad and pen Holder 

The paper is from Prima Marketing Inc., Presents (The First Blush Collection). The Kraft paper is from MS and the punch (Checker Board) I used is also MS. The scallop, circle and bird were punched with Fiskars punches. The cardstock I used for the bird is American Crafts. The word "Journey" was stamped using a clear stamp I believe from the G Studio series and the ink used is from Color Box (Chianti). The button and fiber are from my stash. The ink I used for the paper edges is from Quick Quotes. The pencil is actually a color pencil from Crayola :) I found in my stash and the color matched perfect with the project.

CARD BOX MADE FROM SCRAPS

I had this box laying around in my craft room for a while and since I did some re-organization in the room I decided I was going to use it to house the cards from Wild Card with Lisa.

I used the Peppermint Collection from DCWV for these simple in a hurry boxes.

ANOTHER BOX OF CARDS

BOX OF CARDS

-BOX LID-

cut a piece of cardstock at 7-7/8" x 6/5/8"

score at 1" on all four sides

-BOX BOTTOM-

cut a piece of cardstock at 8-3/4" x 7-1/2"

score at 1-1/2" on all four sides

Cut slits on all four sides (bottom and lid), where the score lines meet

and use adhesive on the flaps to form box

Covering the box

-BOX LID-

cut a piece of the designer paper of your choice at 5-3/4" x 4-1/2"

cut two more pieces at 5-3/4" x 7/8"

and cut two more pieces at 4-1/2" x 7/8"

(these pieces are for the top and sides)

 -BOX BOTTOM-

cut one piece of the designer paper at 5-5/8" x 4-3/8"

cut two more pieces at 5-5/8" x 1-3/8"

and cut two more pieces at 4-3/8" x 1-3/8"

(these pieces are from the inside bottom and outside sides)

 Ink all edges of designer paper and box (optional)

Embellish box

I made six cards (4" x 5-1/4") with their respective envelopes

and they fit perfectly in the box as you can see below.

HOLIDAY WREATH

I just finish making this wreath for the holidays and I wanted to share it with you.

Materials used are on the photos but you can use whatever you have handy.

-A Styrofoam circle

-3 12 x 12 designer papers

-I used the Don Juan Cricut cartridge to cut the leaves but,

you can cut them by hand too

-I used the auto-fill feature of my Cricut expression

-ink to ink the edges of the leaves

-glue gun

-ribbon or lace to make the loop to hang

Arrange leaves as desired
